hes saying he doesnt care because he will be in protective custody the whole time
"you could be put into protective custody"
What’s the difference between all the journalists outside the court when count dankula was being tried and the grooming gang case?
not that he would
I'd understand a gag law being enforced in a critical matter
like an inminent terrorist attack or something
I think the blackout was that there were so many defendants that they couldn't try them all at once and didn't want the outcome of the first trial affecting the second one
hence the blackout
but still, how would TR know he couldn't do what he did
he was media
he was covering an event
and he got arrested
prior record/shit be damned
If he had been informed he wouldnt be in jail
he knew, because thats what he was arrested for in the first place
right
I get that
I dont think he knew
he is not stupid
if he knew he wouldnt have reported on it
maybe the first time... but not the second
He didnt look like he had any idea that the law was in place for that case
I get what you're saying wacka, but he's done a ton of shit that he could have since been arrested for if that's true
its kinda like YT, you don't know what would cause you to be arrested...
he hasnt done the thing that he was expressly told not to do since he was arrested for the same thing tthough
He and his lawyer know exactly what he can do and say without getting arrested
I do agree, as Sargon said, it was a poor choice
mmhm I think there is something Im missing
He knew he would be arrested?
I don't think he did
hes already been arrested for the exact same thing... I dont think he would just forget that
but he probably knew it *could* get him arrested, not that he would have
calculated risk that ended poorly I guess
anyway
again, we're discussing the semantics of a shitty law
whatever law that is
contempt of court
Well just being himself could get arrested
I'm a free speech absolutist and I believe we shouldn't even need to have this discussion
on a public road (pretty sure), covering an event as a journalist
