what would happen is, they pick 18 people from the "main room" where we are all put between cases... then when we get to the court room, they pick 12 of us, and the 6 go back to the main room

2018-05-28 16:02:16 UTC

From what i heard, no

2018-05-28 16:02:24 UTC

I heard they sent missinformation to his lawyer so he couldnt help Tommy

2018-05-28 16:02:30 UTC

that's what happens here too

2018-05-28 16:03:02 UTC

except lawyers can choose to NOT have someone based on some attribute or if the juror is found to not be impartial due to some reason they can be removed

2018-05-28 16:03:16 UTC

then backups come in, so that there are always 12 total

2018-05-28 16:03:57 UTC

but they can't PICK who they want, and they can't keep cycling until they like everyone on the jury, but they have some leeway, on the prosecution and defence

2018-05-28 16:04:13 UTC

also, it doesn't matter

2018-05-28 16:04:35 UTC

Tommy was a journalist, covering something the the media wasn't... and he got arrested

2018-05-28 16:04:41 UTC

yes he broke whatever shit law it was

2018-05-28 16:04:50 UTC

yeah they can choose to remove someone but I think theres some speicial request they have to go through or something

2018-05-28 16:04:52 UTC

but still shit law and yall should be really upset right now

2018-05-28 16:06:36 UTC

also this is disturbing if true

2018-05-28 16:06:50 UTC

basically judge knew TR would be in danger, but didn't care... "so what"

2018-05-28 16:07:02 UTC

yeah i saw that... its slightly out of context but was stupid to say

2018-05-28 16:07:05 UTC

Enforcing that law in that case is ilegitimate

2018-05-28 16:07:25 UTC

because 1: There was no reason why the public should not know that the grooming happened

2018-05-28 16:07:34 UTC

and 2: I dont think Tommy was informed of this

2018-05-28 16:07:39 UTC

hes saying he doesnt care because he will be in protective custody the whole time

2018-05-28 16:07:55 UTC

"you could be put into protective custody"

2018-05-28 16:08:00 UTC

What’s the difference between all the journalists outside the court when count dankula was being tried and the grooming gang case?

2018-05-28 16:08:03 UTC

not that he would

2018-05-28 16:08:24 UTC

I'd understand a gag law being enforced in a critical matter

2018-05-28 16:08:35 UTC

like an inminent terrorist attack or something

2018-05-28 16:08:40 UTC

I think the blackout was that there were so many defendants that they couldn't try them all at once and didn't want the outcome of the first trial affecting the second one

2018-05-28 16:08:54 UTC

hence the blackout

2018-05-28 16:09:04 UTC

but still, how would TR know he couldn't do what he did

2018-05-28 16:09:09 UTC

he was media

2018-05-28 16:09:14 UTC

he was covering an event

2018-05-28 16:09:18 UTC

and he got arrested

2018-05-28 16:09:25 UTC

prior record/shit be damned

2018-05-28 16:09:29 UTC

If he had been informed he wouldnt be in jail

2018-05-28 16:09:30 UTC

he knew, because thats what he was arrested for in the first place

2018-05-28 16:09:35 UTC

right

2018-05-28 16:09:37 UTC

I get that

2018-05-28 16:09:46 UTC

I dont think he knew

2018-05-28 16:09:52 UTC

he is not stupid

2018-05-28 16:10:00 UTC

if he knew he wouldnt have reported on it

2018-05-28 16:10:07 UTC

and I concede he probably did break whatever shit law / command / whatever, but it's still wrong

2018-05-28 16:10:12 UTC

maybe the first time... but not the second
