@sɪᴅɪsɴᴏᴛʜᴇʀᴇ
what gain did USA make from the trade war?

2020-02-17 16:12:56 UTC

China will buy more goods

2020-02-17 16:12:59 UTC

That $200 bn doesn't cover the $35 bn lost 'per quarter'
reverse isn't progress

2020-02-17 16:13:06 UTC

It’s 200 per year

2020-02-17 16:13:14 UTC

Nope

2020-02-17 16:13:17 UTC

So in the few years the cost will be recouped and gains will be made

2020-02-17 16:13:20 UTC

it's a 1 time purchase.

2020-02-17 16:13:23 UTC

It’s not.

2020-02-17 16:13:27 UTC

The deal says every year

2020-02-17 16:13:32 UTC

single sale

2020-02-17 16:13:41 UTC

no long term contrracts at ALL

2020-02-17 16:13:45 UTC

No, every year.

2020-02-17 16:24:38 UTC

@sɪᴅɪsɴᴏᴛʜᴇʀᴇ

The deal was to 'increase levels' but 100% open ended.
A 1 shot deal.

"The two sides have sold the deal in their own language – the US turning up the volume on Chinese monetary commitments to purchase US$200 billion worth of US imports while China has stated that these will conform to market requirements and WTO conditions. The dual interpretation leaves ample space for future disputes."

https://www.china-briefing.com/news/us-china-phase-one-trade-deal-takeaways-businesses-global-trade/

^^ very well cited.

2020-02-17 16:25:11 UTC

Yeah? That’s what I said.

2020-02-17 16:25:18 UTC

200 billion over the baseline.

2020-02-17 16:28:31 UTC

7 quarters * $40bn = $280bn

Trump got a 1 shot grocery deal for $200bn

That's still $80bn in the hole.

And that's starting. That's just cherry picking a couple of major industries. That is by no means all the loses.

2020-02-17 16:33:29 UTC

It wasn’t seven quarters.

2020-02-17 16:33:32 UTC

More like 6.

2020-02-17 16:33:44 UTC

But anyways, this is 200 billion and it continues on for a long time.

2020-02-17 16:33:56 UTC

(I’m also not sure that figure is correct)

2020-02-17 16:43:32 UTC

@sɪᴅɪsɴᴏᴛʜᴇʀᴇ
> But anyways, this is 200 billion and it continues on for a long time.
BULLSHIT!

Where is the renewal stated?

2020-02-17 16:43:46 UTC

It’s a long term deal.

2020-02-17 16:43:58 UTC

where does it state that?

2020-02-17 16:47:52 UTC

I don't find a date past 2021

2020-02-17 16:48:02 UTC

the both sides estimate it will continue on till 2025

2020-02-17 16:48:14 UTC

I’m pretty sure phase 2 will finalise this.

2020-02-17 16:48:15 UTC

everything contingent on 'phase II', which is never going to happen.

2020-02-17 16:48:22 UTC

It’s already in talks

2020-02-17 16:48:28 UTC

where does the deal state 2025?

2020-02-17 16:48:50 UTC

Phase II negotiations have not even started.

2020-02-17 16:48:59 UTC

I’m quoting an article for that

2020-02-17 16:49:06 UTC

> Phase II negotiations have not even started.
Talks have started

2020-02-17 16:50:29 UTC

China is scared of Trump, in a good way, so they will commit to these purchases past 2021. Phase 2 as well, will be more expansive.

2020-02-17 16:54:38 UTC

Phase 1 ends in 2021, including provisions.

2020-02-17 16:54:48 UTC

You went from "this is 200 billion and it continues on for a long time."

2020-02-17 16:54:56 UTC

to "I am sure it will be signed"

2020-02-17 16:55:04 UTC

to "China is scared, so they will commit".

2020-02-17 16:55:43 UTC

At least try to be a little bit honest.

2020-02-17 17:01:06 UTC

@sɪᴅɪsɴᴏᴛʜᴇʀᴇ
Prove any part of what you are saying.
Nothing from any reputible website will support your narrative. You're just spewing malarkey.

2020-02-17 17:01:07 UTC

GG @wuzamarine, you just advanced to level 8!

2020-02-17 17:03:16 UTC

Nobody was going to do trump any favors. Trump had no leverage.
