i posted this comment on philip defrancos latest video and i thought maybe it would be of interest here too. the deal with north korea. north korea is a brutal dictatorship where people constantly struggle to survive with extreme national surveillance and prejudiced against decent to support a man at the top who lives in relative paradise. that being said, what is the solution if not for diplomacy? a war would lead to the deaths of millions within the country as those with power would ransom the lives of all those below them to stave off defeat. assassination would lead to a power vacuum which would not change the structure of north korea but only the person at its head and create greater fear and resentment for the outside world due to the ensuing chaos and the breach of security. a joint assassination and war may be the least violent of the 2 but weve seen the results of the united states doing that elsewhere in the world, every place we try these neo-conservitive measures fails in this modern world. so diplomacy, diplomacy with that man who sits on a pyramid of suffering, people will suffer through the entire process of diplomacy, but people will only suffer a life they've already suffered for decades, not a suffering unlike they have never imagined and only been propagandized to believe would happen with the intervention of the united states any more directly. so we can only hope this diplomacy is quick and effective and dont get our hopes up that it is tremendously successful but are realistic and hopefully bring some help to north korea.

The way it's set up, might actually make all three states more centralist. The northern-most counties are the most Republican (but unpopulated), but paired with Sacramento it can have more of a chance against San Francisco. Inland Empire is the most even to begin with.
