Come to think of it. If there's mitigating context, it's interesting I haven't heard that argument get made. It shows just how aggressive this whole culture war is becoming. It can't even be about whether Gunn is or isn't a pedophile. It's all about Cernovich.
Context is the most important thing for anything someone says. But „the left“ does not care about context and „the right“ has no reason to defend gunn.

Personally, I got a feeling it's fear. The left has moved to the point where you cannot be an 'apologist.' If you argue someone didn't commit rape (or increasingly, even open the possibility it should be considered in an impartial investigation) you're a 'rape apologist.' If you argue that *maybe* the Proud Boys aren't abject racists you're an "alt-right apologist." (In the rape case, there's a person I know who had evidence that a campus rape charge was false and then got smeared as a rape apologist all over the press)
I wonder if there is a fear of being called a "pedophile apologist" for defending Gunn.
