i'm not sure about the inverse
i will have to do some more in depth research on that part
so is it not possible that, if you try and marry off all your children (idk but this generally seems to be a good idea in these types of games set around this time period), that you could have a near 50/50 split of male/female options to pull from when picking a general, no?
yes
i never said the critiscism was unwarrented
i'm just against the guys putting all the fake info out
like *"oh hey, you can recruit female generals for rome"*
or *"wow i only get female generals for my general selection screen on the start of the game"* <- unless RNJesus pulled all the fucking stops, this should hardly happen
its bound to happen with enough people playing or enough retries
but the video you linked omits the fact wives can now be generals (assuming females are allowed to be generals). Then goes to claim that the spawn rates are somewhat believable for that time period. However, the people playing the game most like see, suddenly, going from like no female options to upwards of a near 50/50 split. That doesn't seem to like a believable spawn rate for that time period, but i don't think it was intentional either.
So i don't think the controversy is that overblown. but that doesn't mean you don't have idiots. You always have idiots.
like some guy probably saw he had a general that said it was roman despite him playing as the other faction
so he goes "oh look, Rome can now have female generals"
perhaps not realizing (or intentionally omitting) that its the side he is playing as that allows female generals
thats a big hazard if he is jumping back into a game he had already started, and just saw he could pick a roman female to be a general even if its because he is playing as barbarians or whatever
ye
facts that people can easily correct....until the community manager calls everyone a bigot then people stop caring
yup
i'm actually interested in the timing. i'm willing to bet the review bombing was slight and only significant because the game is so old now, but once the CM called people idiots im sure the bombing went into overtime
i'm checking the steam reviews again
i saw a positive review that mentioned the company went the lazy route with its "diversity" push
meaning they didn't offer like a free DLC with a focus known female leaders or such
ye
though most of the recent positive reviews are mostly related to a big overhaul mod a lot of people play
>when you make a game yet people only give positive comments because of a mod it has

i'm beginning to wonder if federal employees, ones which are not elected officials, should be barred from being a member of any political part of organization, and any member caught claiming to be part of a political party/organization should be fired immediately
would violate constitution
just need to make it easier to fire federal employees and bar them from unionizing.
though barring federal employee unions would probably also violate the constitution.
simply making it much easier to fire them would go a long way, as would distributing federal bureaucracy geographically. having everything concentrated in DC, which votes 91% democrat, is not a good way to have a non-partisan bureaucracy.
i don't think barring them from unions violates the constitution seeing as they used to not be allowed
the reason they are hard to fire is because of the unions
The way their CM should have handled it.
they did handle it
@GingaBomber my fave fem warrior is Thyra, the viking queen, lead an army against, the german tribes, build “Danevirke”. The danish counterpart to Hadrian’s wall
Their community manager couldn't handle it better, they EA themselves.
