@Deleted User More or less yes

2019-06-09 00:55:12 UTC

So Catholics and Orthodox share the same interpretation in original sin?

2019-06-09 00:55:20 UTC

It has more to do with historical philosophies and culture. Remember that the Orthodox were mostly Greeks at one time.

2019-06-09 00:55:26 UTC

Greek philosophy etc

2019-06-09 00:55:33 UTC

Our churches are more mystical in a sense, hence the holy light in Easter etc

2019-06-09 00:56:35 UTC

Here is another Catholic Church

2019-06-09 00:56:56 UTC

That looks mostly as our churches

2019-06-09 00:56:56 UTC

Most but not all ECs were once Orthodox

2019-06-09 00:57:06 UTC

Rag.

2019-06-09 00:57:06 UTC

Yeah

2019-06-09 00:57:07 UTC

Do

2019-06-09 00:57:11 UTC

Orthodox

2019-06-09 00:57:13 UTC

and Catholics

2019-06-09 00:57:14 UTC

share

2019-06-09 00:57:14 UTC

the

2019-06-09 00:57:15 UTC

same

2019-06-09 00:57:15 UTC

As I said, same liturgical rite

2019-06-09 00:57:24 UTC

If you spam again we are gonna have a problem

2019-06-09 00:58:16 UTC

Seriously though I do apologize.

2019-06-09 00:59:28 UTC

@Iakovos Also sorry to you too, my tone probably seemed a little aggressive, not that I wanted it

2019-06-09 00:59:43 UTC

It's all good.

2019-06-09 01:00:55 UTC

@Iakovos So, for your questions though, it would be best to visit some different churches from cathobros to orthobros and speak with the priests there. I believe they will be happy to answer your questions

2019-06-09 01:01:35 UTC

I will visit an Orthodox Church tomorrow morning.

2019-06-09 01:02:26 UTC

Catholic original sin is more like a curse as a result of an individual sin

2019-06-09 01:02:33 UTC

Like inheriting a disease

2019-06-09 01:02:44 UTC

Not infecting yourself with it as Adam did

2019-06-09 01:03:15 UTC

The same as us then, because in a sense we don't inherit the sin but only the consequences

2019-06-09 01:03:24 UTC

We do not believe people are *guilty* of Adam's sin. Merely that we suffer the consequences of what he did. So the blame falls on us

2019-06-09 01:03:27 UTC

Well obviously, original sin is evident as we all die.

2019-06-09 01:03:27 UTC

Yeah basically

2019-06-09 01:03:46 UTC

Oh so that makes sense.

2019-06-09 01:03:59 UTC

Okay, then Catholics and Orthodox are in harmony with each other on that.

2019-06-09 01:04:14 UTC

Our relationships are "mostly" good

2019-06-09 01:04:18 UTC

If I can get past the leavened bread I will most likely join an Orthodox Church.

2019-06-09 01:04:53 UTC

But if I can't, then I will continue my original plan to be confirmed Catholic.

2019-06-09 01:04:59 UTC

The pope have tried to mend the relationship with our churches and in 2001 it was the first time the Pope asked for forginess to Orthodox, not something that did go too well or not too bad

2019-06-09 01:05:31 UTC

Who are the 4 patriarchs at this time?

2019-06-09 01:06:08 UTC

Jerusalem Pierbattista Pizzaballa (Apostolic Administrator)

2019-06-09 01:06:46 UTC

The mutual excommunications were lifted in the 60s

2019-06-09 01:06:48 UTC

Basically there are tons of patriarchs to send
