I have just updated to MacOS Mojave, which added a news app.
When adding new topics, these are the top sources that come up.
Is Apple joining the freight of big tech companies trying to steer public opinion and advocate specific news outlets?
I see Fox News in there, but if those were the only news outlets one would consume, it would be a very skewed view of current events.
When I search for "Breitbart" in the new app, I get Breitbart as a news source, but all the stories suggested to me appear to be slamming "right wing news outlets".
Apple hasn't really been in the news about trying to filter news and opinions as much as other tech giants. I wonder if they will add their weight to the other big companies that seem to be abusing their influence to steer political opinion.
Also, when searching for alternative news outlets, I get stories on feminism and breastfeeding instead.
Conservative Lifesite is facing attempts to take them out:

Not to point out the obvious, but that really isn't trying to steer public opinion so much as it is trying to get rid of outlets that blatently print out false pieces of information
any news aggregate that lists Breitbart would be making itself look silly
Oh, please, let the next generation read about the Danish-Iranian War.
Not a popular narrative as it could been seen as support for Trump lead sanctions on Iran
Isn't Canada currently in poor relations with some middle eastern country over something trudeau did?
I think this is what your referring to.
I think it's pretty obvious with the murder at the consulate in Istanbul that it wasn't something Trudeau did. Trudeau was responding to the situation in Yemen. Now the assassination.
And I found this a very clear rebuke of the idea of an executive order rescinding right of soil citizenship

Note the writer is their most conservative editorialist, Marc Thiessen
When American Indians gave birth on claimed American lands, did they get American citizenship?
After the 14th, yes
Native Americans are Americans by right of soil
And even Chinese laborers were determined to fit within the 14th in 1898.
And they were given this right by the 14th amendment?
The 14th Amendment put an end to the games that were played saying slaves could never be citizens or Indians could never be citizens.
As intended at the time it was intended to say that if you were born here, you're a citizen
thats interesting, but how trustworthy is this source
I have no idea
I was just laughing at it.
and thought I would share.
