@fsmetal I had to explain this to my wife and she couldn't understand it because it's so ingraned in her that a constitution (憲法) protects the rights (constitutional rights) of the *citizens* of a nation. She was like "why would the US constitution protect the rights of illegals" and I'm like "no, it doesn't, that's the point". because if they are making an exception on a sepcific case I could see that, but that's some very "creative interpretation" if they're setting a precident of that as a rule
