Mastercard/Paypal/Stripe blackball to silence people and do it either of their own independent will or under activist pressure. In this case it sounds like the Bank was afraid of federal law regarding marijuana. It seems unjustified (the lawyer is just doing defense lawyer work) but somehow the bank has decided he's involved in the trade and the feds will come after them.
