Then Ragnarok

2019-03-08 04:05:24 UTC

Just the story was meh

2019-03-08 04:05:37 UTC

Yeah the story was just okay lol

2019-03-08 04:05:49 UTC

Also isnt Thor as strong as Captain marvel?

2019-03-08 04:05:53 UTC

But those first passes through the golden city of Asgard were great

2019-03-08 04:06:19 UTC

Especially Odin force palpatine thor from the end of Ragnarok?

2019-03-08 04:06:25 UTC

I think Captain Marvel is stronger than Thor.

2019-03-08 04:07:00 UTC

That was an awesome scene. Then again when he shows up with new axe/hammer in Infinity War

2019-03-08 04:09:58 UTC

Would have been funny if thanos ran off with his new axe lol

2019-03-08 04:12:04 UTC

🤣

2019-03-08 04:43:38 UTC

Captain America 1, Iron Man 1, and Thor 1 were the best

2019-03-08 04:43:58 UTC

Infinity War too especially the back half and the ending

2019-03-08 05:14:37 UTC

If I could get this in a blooper scene I'd pay $20 for it

2019-03-08 06:01:00 UTC

That’s exactly how I feel. AD or BC. Fuck that “common era” crap.

2019-03-08 10:06:42 UTC

Not all nations use BC and AD

2019-03-08 10:06:46 UTC

They use different calenders.

2019-03-08 10:07:20 UTC

Europe bases its Calendar off the Gregorian Calendar, and BC and AD were only first used somewhere around the 9th Century.

2019-03-08 10:09:02 UTC

And the Gregorian Calendar was invented in 1582, so our way of numbering things is fairly new

2019-03-08 10:14:42 UTC

Using AD was around long before that

2019-03-08 10:15:00 UTC

The Gregorian calendar is just an improved version of the Julian calendar

2019-03-08 10:15:17 UTC

And pretty much every country uses BC and AD except North Korea

2019-03-08 10:17:21 UTC

well, and Ethiopia

2019-03-08 10:17:29 UTC

and like a few other weirdo nations

2019-03-08 10:17:55 UTC

but even then I'd imagine there are people in Ethiopia who use Gregorian or Julian as well, so maybe I'm wrong

2019-03-08 10:18:02 UTC

I just know they have a calendar that's in like 2011 right now lol

2019-03-08 10:24:05 UTC

Orthodox Christians use the Julian calendar for holidays

2019-03-08 10:40:12 UTC

i know that, then places like Russia have two Christmases and two Easters lol

2019-03-08 11:33:08 UTC

I don't think they celebrate the Gregorian one

2019-03-08 11:33:24 UTC

Something like 85% of Russians are Orthodox Christian

2019-03-08 11:42:07 UTC

i believe some of the orthodox around here celebrate both, but the more secular ones

2019-03-08 11:42:12 UTC

not the actual strong believers

2019-03-08 12:20:26 UTC

they do generally celebrate both, and 85% is a vast overestimation

2019-03-08 18:22:45 UTC

Wait they get two Christmases?

2019-03-08 18:24:43 UTC

Pew Research says 71% Orthodox, 1.8% Protestant, 0.5% Catholic, 0.3% Other Christian

2019-03-08 22:29:49 UTC

actually, looking more up it seems to be very unclear--85% was definitely too high, but it seems like it's been determined to be anywhere from as low as ~48% to as high as like ~77%, but most seem to figure about 70% ± 1-5%

2019-03-08 22:32:06 UTC

but yes, I'm pretty sure they do celebrate (or "celebrate" at least) it--they might see it as less important than the Julian christmas, idk, but they do at least mostly acknowledge it, same with the Gregorian Easter

2019-03-08 22:39:31 UTC

I can't find any indication of Orthodox celebrating Gregorian Christmas

2019-03-08 22:39:51 UTC

I'm sure they know about it of course

2019-03-08 23:56:18 UTC

So something I just learned
