Until the day of Christ, the Jews were God's chosen people. Chosen to make a covenant with God, to obey the 617 Mosaic laws in exchange for Israel and special protections. A covenant they broke a million times.

And with the fulfillment of the law in Christ, all Christians became God's chosen people. Not the Jews.

And their book, the Torah, even tells all the times they screwed up.
