I’ve noticed several other bands started incorporating that 80’s synth type sound in their songs.
Bands I never would’ve suspected to add that sound. Hollywood Undead, Amity Affliction, blessthefall, Slaves, etc.

Plus there’s a video that does the “fashwave” treatment to the whole thing.
It’s in the thumbnail, so it’s easy to spot.
I really like that Gunship song too. I’ll have to check out that album.
The singer for Celldweller has a side project Scandroid that focuses on that 80’s synth wave sound.
