The thing though, if they get the result they want. They will do it again.
@DrYuriMom and what happens when you become an activist?
That's the most \*\*\*\*'d up part
and once the chain of custody is broken, and you have someone overseeing the election who has already been found guilty of tampering, then you have to assume the same thing has happened. there's no way any rational person can view broward county's results as legitimate.
I don't intend to become an activist
Im not the type
You got a test for that and people wanting to be in positions of political power who would pass that?
i would guess that cat has a high level of conscientiousness, as per the five factor personality model.
but many others do not.
in fact, such people have been proven to be rarer on the left
I am often told my greatest flaw is my gullibility
@DrYuriMom Grenade's point is that activists flout the rules when convenient. There's whole books written and studied in the various grievance studies departments about how to bend or break the rules and get away with it to get the change you want. I can pull up a couple if you want. Run the corruption up high enough and you can get away with basically anything.
I trust
This is why i don't trust the government and think the only good government is one fighting itself.
@DrYuriMom I wish I could have that much faith in people. I've seen too much.
Because the people who want to be in government, rarely are the people you want in government. And you, the people, are the enemy of the government.
Only you can take away their power
I do like split government
If they are fighting themselves, they are not fighting you.
high conscientiousness and high agreeableness perhaps? that would make sense given what i've seen of your personality.
You'd subvert the will of the people?
I am open to compromise but I do have core principles
But it's also why I want it smaller. Because if it's fighting itself, nothing gets done. So when they do get around to doing something once and a while. If it ends up being bad, it will take forever to get undone and do damage all the while
No, Bookworm. I'm just saying what I';m happiest with.
that is the ideal situation when the laws in place are functioning roughly OK. when things are working deadlock is good as it prevents people from breaking what ain't broke.
but *shit's broke yo*
@Bookworm the will of the people got hilter elected remember
I'm aware. I just thought Cat supported democracy as an ideal.
I'm glad to hear otherwise.
I do
We are not a democracy, we are a republic.
Hitler wasn't elected. He was appointed after losing the election and then seized power.
Exactly
Technically the will of the people was Hillary
Actually, Hitler was elected
But I agree we are a republic
The German system is a bit different too. "elected" is slightly different than it is here.
Yes, but you're saying that between the will of the people, and your own will, you would choose your own given the choice.
Which I'm happy to hear, that's a generally healthy outlook.
Well it was like the like party was elected then he was appointed by them right?
