That's why we should punish the companies who hire illegal immigrants first

2018-11-27 16:02:34 UTC

what illegal is going to dox himself to complain about bad pay

2018-11-27 16:02:43 UTC

but a legal american?

2018-11-27 16:03:01 UTC

why should we punish companies for the crimes of the individual?

2018-11-27 16:03:26 UTC

do we punish the employer of a murder?

2018-11-27 16:03:27 UTC

The company has committed a crime too

2018-11-27 16:03:51 UTC

Firstly, illegal worker or not, the company employed someone for less than minimum wage

2018-11-27 16:04:03 UTC

That in itself is a serious felony

2018-11-27 16:04:30 UTC

@Cody Yeah. And it's almost entirely wrong.

2018-11-27 16:04:42 UTC

I do not see how?

2018-11-27 16:05:02 UTC

Your saying we shouldn't punish someone for hiring a person who can not legally work?

2018-11-27 16:05:14 UTC

And if so, why?

2018-11-27 16:05:37 UTC

You are using minimum wage to punish employers for an employees willingness to work for less than min wage

2018-11-27 16:06:02 UTC

Then we punish them for hiring an illegal immigrant

2018-11-27 16:06:21 UTC

then lets punish gab for having a murder on their platform

2018-11-27 16:06:29 UTC

The problem will never go away until the company's themselves stop hiring illegals

2018-11-27 16:06:44 UTC

they will never stop hiring so long as they are here.

2018-11-27 16:06:45 UTC

So we must decentivize that

2018-11-27 16:07:07 UTC

which incentives shipping jobs overseas anyway.

2018-11-27 16:07:10 UTC

Then we need to secure our borders, then lower minimum wage

2018-11-27 16:07:28 UTC

And outright abolish it slowly

2018-11-27 16:08:14 UTC

Grenade, you do not see it as a crime to intentionally hire someone who can not legally work?

2018-11-27 16:08:31 UTC

There was both intent, and action

2018-11-27 16:08:51 UTC

By definition it's a crime punishable with our penal code

2018-11-27 16:09:48 UTC

we have ppl here supporting the minimum wage?

2018-11-27 16:10:01 UTC

hasn't that been debunked to death aleady?

2018-11-27 16:10:12 UTC

"Think about it, having no minimum wage would not incentivize hiring Americans"
Perhaps not directly, but if it costs a couple dollars less, it's less of a disincentive.

"An American still looks to progression in their wage
An illegal, would work for the same small amount forever if they could"
Completely incorrect. Illegals look to increase their wages like everyone else. They just recognize that it's going to be harder to do it above the table. But make no mistake, an illegal alien will eagerly look to make more money. And not all Americans necessarily look for raises, some want less working hours.

"It would just lead to actual Americans seeing wages fall, and it wouldn't solve the illegal workers problem"
This is correct. Though I think you're oversimplifying. Most Americans would be unaffected. This is why many minimum wage hikes appear to have negligible effect--the equilibrium price for labor already cleared the price floor.

"It was illegal immigrants working for less than minimum wage
We need to punish companies who hire illegal immigrants, and decentivize them in those feilds"
There's more to it than that. For example, you can still offshore labor. Do agree we shouldn't be encouraging companies to circumvent labor law by hiring illegal persons and they should be punished.

"But as it stands, lowering the minimum wage wont actually fix anything, and getting rid of it would just cause unnecessary civil unrest"
But raising it doesn't help either. As it stands, it might be inflating away with time, which can be the same effect without needing to go through the political process.

2018-11-27 16:10:17 UTC

I'm not for the minimum wage

2018-11-27 16:10:21 UTC

why should companies be allowed to hire illegal workers?

2018-11-27 16:10:26 UTC

But hey, dont read what I wrote

2018-11-27 16:10:30 UTC

Its fine

2018-11-27 16:10:40 UTC

@Cody I'm not talking to you =p

2018-11-27 16:10:48 UTC

WTF. I went line by line through what you wrote. @Cody

2018-11-27 16:11:19 UTC

@.B I mean...It's Codes.

2018-11-27 16:11:31 UTC

illegals workers can't be a problem if you punish companies that hire them

2018-11-27 16:11:41 UTC

it's pretty simple actually

2018-11-27 16:12:00 UTC

I was talking to belial

2018-11-27 16:12:11 UTC

I was reading your things just now pratel

2018-11-27 16:12:36 UTC

2 complaints, I never mentioned raising the minimum wage

2018-11-27 16:12:58 UTC

"Grenade, you do not see it as a crime to intentionally hire someone who can not legally work?"

i do not have a problem with someone not invading someones personal life if they are willing to work, no.

2018-11-27 16:13:00 UTC

@.B At the very least, it's a disincentive. It would cut down on economic migrants, but it wouldn't eliminate them. You'd still have people come over for welfare or unaware they'd struggle to find work.
