2018-12-21 20:10:30 UTC

2018-12-21 20:11:17 UTC

US apparently has 4 prison islands actually

2018-12-21 20:11:57 UTC

Has had, rather

2018-12-21 21:19:07 UTC

Just want an update
Are they still at it in France?

2018-12-21 21:22:13 UTC

how long until the plan backfires and this prison colony becomes Australia 2

2018-12-21 21:29:57 UTC

Alcatraz and Rikers are rather popular

`DRAG QUEEN KIDS: The New Normal?`
I don't know about the states, but canada is pretty cucked to this idea with SOGI in schools.

2018-12-21 22:48:05 UTC

Transgenderism in large part only places a requirement on the population at large to confirm an individuals self image. Change my mind.

2018-12-22 00:22:27 UTC

one of my colleges had drag queens for entertainment once and they hung out outside the student union before the show

2018-12-22 00:22:45 UTC

i was so terrified i ended up taking a side entrance just to avoid contact

2018-12-22 01:28:12 UTC

Isn't that called courtesy? An expectation that we acknowledge each others' self image?

2018-12-22 01:30:25 UTC

That said, I abhore making it a requirement. That's just wrong. You can't mandate courtesy. Asshats be asshats.

2018-12-22 01:39:54 UTC

That's really not how a self image works.

2018-12-22 01:42:20 UTC

Nobody is entitled to the way another person perceives you.

2018-12-22 01:55:25 UTC

Self image can be literally anything you see yourself as.

2018-12-22 01:58:18 UTC

If I see myself as a nice person, the very definition of generosity, that doesn't matter if I actively tell every homeless person I see to ' get a fucking job '

2018-12-22 02:01:23 UTC

I, personally, see myself as being a bit younger than I am. In my head I'm about 23, I imagine myself to have a different jawline, a certain intense defiance when it comes to matters in questionable authority, and a strong philosophical grasp.

2018-12-22 02:02:42 UTC

There are things in that self image that, to be healthy, I have to accept as untrue. Other things that I have to actualize if I want to be perceived that way.

2018-12-22 02:06:15 UTC

But if someone does not see me that way, if they see me as ignorant, or just plain arrogant, that is their image of me, no matter how I disagree. They're not obligated to tell me how smart I am or grounded I am, or how righteous I am in the fights I take up, that would be silly. Nobody's obligated to call me stunning and brave.

2018-12-22 02:08:26 UTC

Cool, so if you imagine yourself to be a woman, but I believe you're a man, you aren't entitled to make me recognize your imagination.

2018-12-22 03:13:02 UTC

That's you're prerogative but you'll likely be calling lots of ovulating people dudes if you are intent on never calling someone without ovaries a woman

2018-12-22 03:13:26 UTC

And again you have people born women with no ovaries or uterus.

2018-12-22 03:14:29 UTC

If you want to be rude, that's your business. Or you can show courtesy, be polite, and go with what they signal.

2018-12-22 03:23:52 UTC

>And again you have people born women with no ovaries or uterus.
Give us a %

2018-12-22 03:24:21 UTC

no matter the number you come up with. You _know_ that they are the exception

2018-12-22 03:24:44 UTC

Humans have 2 arms, you don't get to create a new definition of _human_ if you miss one arm

2018-12-22 03:27:49 UTC

There is a genetic defining characteristic between male and female. Xx, and xy.

2018-12-22 03:28:08 UTC

There are deviations, as well. Incredibly rare.

2018-12-22 03:29:05 UTC

Androgen insensitivity syndrome

2018-12-22 03:30:44 UTC

What part of that makes them a woman?

2018-12-22 03:31:24 UTC

Is womanhood the lack of manhood?

2018-12-22 03:31:34 UTC

It's not a negative state.

2018-12-22 03:31:34 UTC

Intersex provides evidence of how the brain knows gender. We've seen intersex kids or kids with circumcision accidents where physicians and parents try to assign. The kid grows up with anatomy that sexes them but they know it's wrong. The brain knows.

2018-12-22 03:32:04 UTC

Gender is a linguistic concept.

2018-12-22 03:32:13 UTC

The brain doesn't innately know gender.

2018-12-22 03:32:29 UTC

Then why do we have kids kill themselves over it?

2018-12-22 03:32:44 UTC

That poor kid in that terrible experiment
