If so fuck you
I ain't going white theme to read jack shit
Mr. israel finally got fired!!!
well, almost
It's a libertarian joke.
People often defend the need of government to oversee the maintenance and creation of public infrastructure like roads.
It would be possible to pay people out of pocket to build a road would it not?
I used to think it made a lot of sense to tax for roads until I thought about it a lot
@🥞🥞🥞🥞🥞🥞 i think its more that only rich people could use roads.
thats their idea anyway
like image a 15 dollar toll every 2 feet, that is what they see.
also you could be barred from using the roads (no different than revoking you drivers license really)
tfw disembodied cyborg head watching VR of roads
Toll roads a great in theory until you have to drive on one.
They're a pain in the ass.
$2 each way every time I wanted to go to fucking target.
o is that the actual discussion?
there are a few things you should try to keep free to average citizen as possible, and if that means paying taxes for better roads then thats one of them
i mean you can look at state of american healthcare in both its ups and downs as a analogy. surely some private roads would be the best roads in the world but if majority of people can't afford to use them its a even more dire circumstance economically then what happens when people can't pay for medicine
if you can't easily commute you're basically slapping commerce in the face
Private toll roads would be horrible. We would get shit like we see on Twitter where people are banned from parts of the road because the property owner doesn't like their politics. Or because they hate the sports team and want to block them from making it to the game.
And gov run toll roads only work if the system is fully automated. No workers. No stopping. No bullshit looking for $0.50 or paying for it with your CC every fucking time you enter or leave. So basically, just the Texas Tollway system. Get a bill in the mail or an automated CC charge. This is 2019. Get with the fucking times you shitty New York unions.
wouldn't it make more sense to charge people based on the miles they drove on the road
And would those miles be counted by offline machine (meaning that it can be hacked and have numbers manually reduced) or would you have government track your car's location 24/7?
neither
use the fuel
not exact
just use the average mpg of the most comment vehicles
What fuel?
Different cars use different fuels
all of them
You know some cars run partly on solar panels, right?
cars need fuel, you put fueling stations alone roads
not yet they can't
and they don't work at night
I said partly...
yes, and i said use the average
more fuel efficient, more cost you put on the fuel to fix the roads.
for government its a tax, for private roads they just own the fuel stations
