or whiteys taking african american studies

2018-07-17 21:12:49 UTC

or more how many there are lol

2018-07-17 21:13:32 UTC

I was actually thinking it would make an elaborate 4chan style troll if someone 'adopted' something like this and then went sue or micro-aggression happy at every chance.

The answer is yes, but if you're going into those fields you know what you're getting into and you already more-or-less agree with alot of it.

Plus, in truth administrators aren't going to care too much for the case or will try and keep it as quiet as possible.

2018-07-17 21:13:55 UTC

*something 'adopted' someone in this

2018-07-17 21:15:57 UTC

lol yeah i mean i live in a majority white area right next to a majority white uni and their education degree is essentially a social justice degree for the most part and a couple of my buddies have such classes 😛

2018-07-17 21:17:13 UTC

other than their buisness degree which has majority internation asian students the education degree is mostly white 😛 thank god some people in those circles are wise to the tomfoolery of PC culture

2018-07-17 21:20:46 UTC

until they get converted

2018-07-17 21:20:58 UTC

why exactly are there college courses that have zero chance of getting you a job other than teaching those exact courses?

2018-07-17 21:21:08 UTC

Very surprised and impressed to hear those words from Obama though

2018-07-17 21:22:17 UTC

money money moneyyyyyy

2018-07-17 21:22:20 UTC

monay monayyy

2018-07-17 21:22:28 UTC

yeah, no. it's easy to say things if you don't have to follow them anymore.

2018-07-17 21:22:52 UTC

tbh its essentially creating a giant speculative bubble

2018-07-17 21:23:09 UTC

as in the speculation that they will be able to pay back the debt of their degree with their degree

2018-07-17 21:23:46 UTC

Obama does seem to bounce back and forth between making anti id-pol statements that get ignored, and then making very pro-idpol statements when convenient

2018-07-17 21:24:14 UTC

not sure how long it would take to pay back a degree on a waiters salary in the states, here eduaction is muuch much cheaper so its essentially funded by the state

2018-07-17 21:24:37 UTC

and go figure students still protest that education is too expensive here

2018-07-17 21:24:55 UTC

yeah, i get that... thats the concept of college in the US in general... but you would have to get a degree in something that a) pays good and b) has actual job prospects in the first place...

2018-07-17 21:26:04 UTC

...if you go for a gender study degree the only jobs you can get with that is diversitysomething and barista at starbucks.

2018-07-17 21:26:30 UTC

Obama has been going against safe spaces for a couple years now.

2018-07-17 21:26:31 UTC

There are more jobs in the diversity/inclusion market than you'd think. That's a big part of why college costs have skyrocketed as they have.

2018-07-17 21:27:01 UTC

In practice from what his admin did in power is a very different story.

And it's hard to say exactly how much of it he takes and where he draws his lines.

2018-07-17 21:27:04 UTC

Then there's also jobs like HR

2018-07-17 21:27:20 UTC

But yes, he's been telling kids to listen to their opponents.

2018-07-17 21:27:54 UTC

yes but the issue is,

Has he been saying tha because he was on his way out, so it didn't matter for him anymore?

2018-07-17 21:27:58 UTC

yeah pretty much any administration job in the social studies can be gotten with a gender studies degree

2018-07-17 21:28:02 UTC

I should note I haven't actually heard him single out and stand up for anyone though (like that thing at Business Insider or the NYTimes)

so his influence seems minimal at best IMO

2018-07-17 21:28:33 UTC

@I AM ERROR

There's also a burgeoning and rapidly growing industry of diversity consultants.

2018-07-17 21:28:41 UTC

See: Starbucks or Google.

2018-07-17 21:28:59 UTC

You can call it extracting rent if you want, but they are pulling in money.

2018-07-17 21:29:03 UTC

that diversity stuff is not a job with a future

2018-07-17 21:29:09 UTC

the real question is when will bloated beurocracy come and bite back in the ass of teh profit margins of these companies/univercities

2018-07-17 21:29:15 UTC

Dunno about the states, but a lot of bank jobs are just any degree

2018-07-17 21:29:38 UTC

Lower tier bank jobs mind, but the pay isn't that bad

2018-07-17 21:29:38 UTC

That's the thing. It has a future as long as a sufficient and important number of people agree.

2018-07-17 21:29:45 UTC

and does not have enough positions outside of college administrations.

2018-07-17 21:30:03 UTC

that's why i said that is does not have a future, pratel

2018-07-17 21:30:12 UTC

If you can create a situation where the market has no alternative, it doesn't matter. (See, for example academia. Find me a Uni besides Hillsdale that doesn't place SocJus)

2018-07-17 21:30:38 UTC

(And Hillsdale doesn't count because it's hamstrung on it's own to where it'll never really replace anything)

2018-07-17 21:31:01 UTC

You're missing the part where it moves outside colleges.

2018-07-17 21:31:06 UTC

Like Starbucks.
