Trump's too incompetent to do anything too damaging. But the Democrats...

2018-07-25 23:14:12 UTC

Growing on a lot of people if those recent polls are accurate.

2018-07-25 23:14:12 UTC

Californian bills banning "fake news"

2018-07-25 23:14:40 UTC

Maybe. I think it's more likely the moderate Republicans are falling in line, which isn't really enough to win.

2018-07-25 23:14:51 UTC

And it won't help the Republicans much int he midterms.

2018-07-25 23:16:15 UTC

I saw that fake news bill @pratel . It hasn’t passed though. Right?

2018-07-25 23:16:25 UTC

Not to my knowledge.

2018-07-25 23:16:32 UTC

What has trump done that makes you like him less? Outside of these risky trade wars

2018-07-25 23:16:52 UTC

Terrified me it was even on the table though. I've seen what the left has done at the Universities.

2018-07-25 23:17:24 UTC

When Tim was talking about how you can tell which candidate would win just by looking at them it reminded me of this video. A lot of people voted for Hillary just because she was a woman but when the genders were swapped it was very easy to see why she was a terrible candidate. https://youtu.be/2qzNpUvpkDU

2018-07-25 23:17:27 UTC

Trade wars, inability to shut up. Not fond of how the debt went (though that's not necessarily his fault).

2018-07-25 23:17:41 UTC

On an issue-by-issue basis there's very little I'm actually upset at.

2018-07-25 23:17:43 UTC

The only thing that Trump has done that pissed me off was bombing Syria.

2018-07-25 23:17:47 UTC

There's not much to be pleased by either.

2018-07-25 23:17:59 UTC

Eh? I guess.

2018-07-25 23:18:13 UTC

I've got a list of people I'd prefer, but I'm not completely opposed.

2018-07-25 23:18:39 UTC

I was ok with Syria. You have to stand by your threats if you want to get taken seriously. It didn't escalate.

2018-07-25 23:19:06 UTC

Syria is a bit of a disaster overall and i's really complicated to get into.

2018-07-25 23:20:29 UTC

The reset of trade tariffs is a good thing in my opinion. The world is pissed, but that’s because they’re losing some pretty sweet deals.

2018-07-25 23:20:31 UTC

Valid critisms. Although him not shutting up is bring entertainment. Makes me remember the bush days before Obama.

2018-07-25 23:20:56 UTC

I agree the outcome is potentially good. But it's worrying.

2018-07-25 23:21:07 UTC

EU I'm not concerned about, it's china

2018-07-25 23:21:24 UTC

It’s going to be hard. That’s no lie. It’s going to be a fight.

2018-07-25 23:21:31 UTC

That's the war I worry that won't end quickly and a lot of damage could be done

2018-07-25 23:21:32 UTC

To be fair, he might have "won" the trade war with Europe insofar as it's "winnable." I'll have to see what terms there are. It is breaking news.

2018-07-25 23:21:42 UTC

I saw

2018-07-25 23:22:13 UTC

But they were most likely to fold. They need our markets too much

2018-07-25 23:22:31 UTC

If tariffs become more even or Europe quits pouring excess money into certain companies (*cough* Airbus *cough*) I might change my mind.

2018-07-25 23:22:35 UTC

I don't like tariffs.

2018-07-25 23:22:52 UTC

And I'm not really sold on "trade deficits" too much either.

2018-07-25 23:22:53 UTC

No one does

2018-07-25 23:23:11 UTC

Eh, some do. Tariffs are overall bad, but they can favor certain people.

2018-07-25 23:23:23 UTC

They can also serve as a corrective to certain forms of improper behavior.

2018-07-25 23:23:38 UTC

It benefits no one.

2018-07-25 23:23:48 UTC

But on the net, they tend to be bad, especially if you're going at people who aren't really misbehaving.

2018-07-25 23:23:52 UTC

I’d be fine with none, but we can only do that if everyone is open like that.

2018-07-25 23:24:00 UTC

It devalues our currency and damages the supplies from foreign markets

2018-07-25 23:24:04 UTC

Net bad all around

2018-07-25 23:24:16 UTC

There are cases where they might make sense.

2018-07-25 23:24:20 UTC

The only use is trying to secure lower tariffs of our own

2018-07-25 23:24:37 UTC

China, for example, heavily subsidizes heavy metals to corner the global market for political ends.
