lmao vox is garbae
The "nobody told me rape is bad" excuse has worked before. You'd be crazy not to use it again
>4% said Vox is positive
WALL
Lol I was watching the JRE with Christina Hoff Sommers, and I was checking the comments
And there's this dude accusing Karen straughan of calling a middle eastern journalist a holocaust
Wow facebook down 25%

Hopefully to never recovery

I'm actually very worried about this. I got a strong feeling this will be spun into a "referendum on Zuckerberg's defense of Holocaust Deniers" and used to push further censorship on the platform.
I doubt it
Facebook isn't as important as Twitter, and has even declared white male as a minority
Exactly my point.
Censorship won't be the way they will go, I think they're going to consider expanding
Zuckerberg, for all his faults has refused to remove some sources from Facebook and has been heavily criticized in the press.
And the press wants Facebook to remove these sources and persons.
Hasn't even removed infowars lmao
That's what I'm referring to, actually.
I'm concerned the press is going to take that testimony and argue that the drop in stock is a consequence of that defense and as such Facebook needs to be more censorious.
The press wants *all* alternative presses from Tim to Infowars removed as they are a threat to their market share.
"Facebook also suffered a rare regional decrease in the number of users, as its base of daily users in Europe fell from 282 million at the end of March to 279 million at the end of June. Wehner said the drop was due entirely to a data protection and privacy law that took effect in Europe in May known as the General Data Protection Regulation, or GDPR"
"The results marked a rare disappointing day for investors in Facebook, which for years has regularly beaten analystsโ expectations for revenue growth and profit margins despite concerns about the long-term impact of privacy scandals.
Facebook shares dropped 20.4 percent from their closing price on Wednesday, reaching a level last seen when Facebook was mired in a scandal over data that ended up in the possession of political consulting firm Cambridge Analytica

It looks as if this might be mostly a correction. They mention that the value is returning to what it was during Cambridge Analytica.
I've actually been wondering when the GDPR was going to hit silicon valley. Looks like it might be sooner than I thought. This might be a good time to take short positions on other tech stocks, but the market is probably already adjusted/adjusting those.
We shall see tomorrow when the less financial (and less reliable) news articles start tomorrow. My guess is that there will be a narrative saying Facebook needs to censor more.
It'll be hilarious to see the mental gymnastics
Did they start censoring stuff?
Also, anyone saw that tim vid on how the internet isnt responsible for Trumps victory
Might not be I mean
Think this channel might be becoming more radicalized?
Which was funny cause my dad called me a radical for saying anyone should be allowed to say anything short of intent to perform criminal activity
Facebook has been reworking it's ranking algorithms and blacklisting certain pages (Diamond and Silk being the most notable).
I can't comment on being more radical. Tim's stance is pretty standard in America. "Free speech absolutism" is pretty absolute in the US and was pretty close to universal until recently. Traditionally, the primary threat to free speech absolutism in the US was the right trying to ban things like rock music, degrading images of Christ and suggestive music for being indecent (the Religious Right, as it was called).
I believe they shadowbanned Liberalists UK
I also should note I've only been on here a week so I can't say if it was less absolutist in the past.
I am also aware that there's alot of stuff the US protects that would be illegal in places like Europe.
i'm not sure if imgur shadowbans comments based on a word filter or link filter, or if i've been shadowbanned from imgur
because a few comment responses i left that contained links to evidence of tim's favorite obama related topic seem to not appear on the actual comment chains, only in my own profile's comment list ๐ค
and they're all at 1 point instead of the usual -10, so i know they aren't showing up for other people either
You know, it's been over a month since any of ian miles Cheong's tweets have shown up on my twitter feed
People outside of us are raging because they got banned in r6 siege for type the answer to "what is cartman's superhero name in southpark" in chat in the game
