Actually, if anything, it sort of confirms Tim's point
He described it as a program though, which is what i addressed.
His point aside
Isnt canada the country that makes it easy to change the gender you identify with?
I wouldnt say its explicitly a program. The issue id reckon stems from how they have very vague definitions on gender.
Never really needed to know how to do that. So no clue, only concerned with any bill with a C in front of it from the last decade, they either took away privacy, or restricted speech.
But i do know this, men were charged more, because insurance companies saw an opportunity to cash in, so their solution to this will likely be to just increase prices for women to match men's.
And I think that made it easier to exploit the system.
Well the insurace company charging men more is just pragmatism.
Its discrimitory, but the point is that gender does play a role in many things and driving habits are one of those.
I mean, the insurance industry in canada... is certainly something. It's a state enforced necessity, can't drive without it, and several measures have been taken (specifically in Alberta) to make sure that if you try to pursue competitive rates, it'll cost you more than just staying with your current company.
Huh, so its another obamacare style issue
And everytime they rose rates illegally, they just apologized, then asked for permission.
Pretty much, no way to not get screwed by insurance here, just gotta sit in the corner and watch it abuse your wallet
or just use public transit. one of the two.
Apologize for it. How canadian.
So insurance, enforced by the govt. Cant turn a profit or be competitive. Well they must know something I dont then.
Yeah, but it's an oopsie then not changing anything, like a kid apologizing in grade school.
Oh, they can turn a profit
They're not state owned.
if you knew the canadian governments history with this stuff, actually, great example, during WW2 canada produced the sten SMG i believe it was called, it was absolute trash. The reason for it being that the prime minister's nephew had a friend who's father owned a factory, or something along those lines.
So probably just because insurance lobbyists asked, or because someone knew a guy. You wouldn't believe the amount stuff that goes on in Alberta, lot of people working Exxon and Shell fell to their death in a field.
So to prevent nepotisim? Wouldnt that be throwing the baby with the bathwater?
No, it's not to prevent nepotism, it's more likely to help those individuals.
Or to prevent a monopoly I guess. One company having a really big advantage over others
At the result of deals being the same.
But the Star System, in alberta, just makes something that acts like a monopoly anyways.
so there's no point to having multiple competitors, since they cannot compete in any sense.
So good and bad?
Canada big autism
