what makes it so important is that they were careless back then because they never thought a large enough resistance would form itself
they were bold & direct with their blatant disregard for ethical behavior in reporting & admitted it out of spite & "nye nye you can't do anything about it"
after #GamerGate arose they saw themselves forced to modify their approach & hide everything they did before in order to avoid being found out
they even had to resort to changing definitions & downplaying the concepts of tabuus to reflect the most average of dissent in order to make it unacceptable in the eyes of the public
