I would be interested to see a factual neutral history of gamergate for those who missed it. The event certainly pushed thousands who were previously apolitical to suddenly care about many issues. On the other hand I don’t really know if the specifics are that important.

We had conversations last month about how gamergate awaken alot of our political consciousness

2018-08-19 07:59:54 UTC

Gamergate just made me more active. I've always had political consciousness

2018-08-19 08:06:20 UTC

Too be honest. For me its I dont trust the media now. Being uninformed is better than bein misinformed

well you could be aware of the narrative while not necessarily believing it, but it makes me unhappy listening to nonsense, unless it's so stupid it's funny

2018-08-19 08:17:43 UTC

I realized CNN was full of shit when that one black guy suggest the missing Malaysian airliner was sucked away via black hole

2018-08-19 08:18:28 UTC

This was back in high school

2018-08-19 08:18:57 UTC

Holy shit I'm old

2018-08-19 08:19:49 UTC

i saw a segment on morning tv once, where they had a guy to talk about how wheat makes you weaker, and i kid you not, he made that con artist trick where you tell a person to stick out their arm and then you push it down, and then he told them to eat some bread, and then he pushed down the arm in an angle which is easier, to show that bread makes you weak, within seconds, and everyone was acting seriously

2018-08-19 08:19:59 UTC

that con artist trick has been featured on scam school

2018-08-19 08:20:53 UTC

i saw no indication of it being a joke, i saw no outrage in the news later, nothing

2018-08-19 08:21:00 UTC

I dont think a 24 hours news channel was a good idea

2018-08-19 08:21:34 UTC

They run out of good content early on and have to fill the rest with junk

2018-08-19 08:22:27 UTC

Funny thing about gamergate for me is I already understood how corrupt gaming journalism t & reviewers by them being a bit too mutually comfortable with gaming companies they were & were not unwilling to criticize them too much for being poor or bad games, as well as occasionally sneaking in some favors on the side, but everything changed for me when they became "anti-gamer" & gaming.

2018-08-19 08:23:57 UTC

Well they already say they dont like the people consuming their content.

2018-08-19 09:16:02 UTC

they also said many times they don't even like to play games

2018-08-19 09:29:43 UTC

Gamergate exposed the "journalist and their friends" cabals

2018-08-19 09:30:13 UTC

Nobody who saw that took the press seriously after that

2018-08-19 09:34:50 UTC

who saw that and was unbiased

2018-08-19 09:35:03 UTC

the left still takes them seriously cuz they are partizan on it

2018-08-19 09:39:38 UTC

I dont know. Even lefties dont trust the "gamer press"

2018-08-19 09:40:09 UTC

Most ppl just ignores reviews altogather

2018-08-19 09:40:34 UTC

And look for feedback on social media

2018-08-19 09:41:14 UTC

What the gamergaters should talk more rn is that lots of youtubers are bought and paid for too

2018-08-19 09:43:41 UTC

i feel lots do it cuz they need to make up for the adpocalypses

2018-08-19 09:43:51 UTC

aswell as just shilling for more moneh

2018-08-19 09:46:08 UTC

Its the exclusivity too

2018-08-19 09:46:21 UTC

Actual journos dont consider game journalists actual journalists

2018-08-19 09:46:33 UTC

And I am sure tim is aware of that.

2018-08-19 09:46:34 UTC

If you get the copy of new game 1 week earlier then other yourubers

2018-08-19 09:46:48 UTC

You have big advantage in the environment

2018-08-19 09:47:03 UTC

Youtubers have everything. Actual gameplay, personality and usually the skill to boot

2018-08-19 09:47:12 UTC

And theres so many of them as well

2018-08-19 09:47:28 UTC

2018-08-19 09:47:40 UTC

Big ones are corupted often

2018-08-19 09:48:08 UTC

2018-08-19 09:49:13 UTC
