no unclaimed land and people still leave their states, lol.
tell me, at what point does any given social hierarchy, family, town, community, what have you, transform from being like your typical family unit, to being the state. There are plenty of families that, once large enough, become like mini-states. I think most people agree a family unit is not equal to the state. But i want to know why. It is very important if you want to remove the state.
Yes, to go to another state
we define the state as this thing that rules over us.
A family unit cannot hold the monopoly on force, is not sovereign and is not a political organization. It is also not compulsory
who grants any one of those things?
how is a family not compulsory?
To be blunt, whoever has the biggest stick
so, then whoever has the biggest stick is the state?
Because you can leave the area your family "rules" over
Group of people is a family,
Group of families is a community,
Group of communities is a town,
Group of towns is a country,
A countries leaders is called a state?
i can leave the area my state rules over
Only to go to another state
no
For which participation is also compulsory
Yes
i can easily head out to sea
or the artic
At which point a state will lay claim to any good shit you have
a family could come in and try to lay claim to any land i have
why not? has happened before
how many crime families used to run major cities
>a single person is a crime family
>an entire criminal organization
sure
i mean, dictators run whole countries
No they don't. They have entire organizations underneath them that keep things running
Fucking Stalin wasn't going to show up to nick you for jaywalking
yeah, and? one person runs it, people follow that person
just like my dad is the head and my mom follows, and they force their will on me
Right, and the authority limits the space controlled
they can easily come after me if i leave
Yes, and 2 people is not a military
2 people vs 1 person? why not.
1 person can be as effect as a whole army.
how many people are needed to be a military?
personally, i think the only thing separating your usual family, and the state, is just a matter of scale.
so then what is the min amount to be called a state
>one person can be an entire professional organization
There's more to it than scale, but scale is a large part of it
