2018-08-27 21:43:23 UTC

Less pass out more crippling depression

2018-08-27 21:50:08 UTC

@Joey4Track (POLEMIC HEART) yes because it has to do with the entire medium of comics. It is literally that it is a comic. Idk why, I can't explain it. Literally make it a movie or give me a novel but a comic? Idk why it just does nothing for me. Which is annoying because as I said I love the stories.

2018-08-27 21:51:26 UTC

crippling depression, is that from that crazy fuck that was eating dog shit in youtube?

2018-08-27 21:53:01 UTC

@Grenade123 manga is objectively better than anime tho. Checkmate atheists

2018-08-27 21:53:43 UTC

I would have to care about either to make that call.

2018-08-27 21:54:12 UTC

There's actually good stuff to be found in there if you're willing to look

2018-08-27 21:54:50 UTC

And if you're already willing to watch modern cinema it's not like you're going to notice anything but a jump in quality anyway :^)

2018-08-27 21:59:51 UTC

He couldn't ruin that anthem tho

2018-08-27 22:01:30 UTC

novels are objectively better than all of the above

2018-08-27 22:01:42 UTC

Generally, yes

2018-08-27 22:02:04 UTC

i mean, there are always exceptions.

2018-08-27 22:03:03 UTC

Well visual and auditory stimuli both create powerful emotional responses

2018-08-27 22:03:25 UTC

You're not always going to get the same reaction out of a book

2018-08-27 22:04:06 UTC

Because even when you're in your reading groove you're not as connected as if you were trying your damnedest to simulate being there

2018-08-27 22:04:39 UTC

i think that depends on the person

2018-08-27 22:04:57 UTC

I think it more so depends on the work

2018-08-27 22:05:52 UTC

i think my problem with comics is its like half way between a visual element and a written element.

2018-08-27 22:06:35 UTC

I've thrown a book to the floor as an adult, I haven't had to stop watching a film since I was 12. I've cried at books as an adult, I haven't cried at a film since I was 14 or so. I think books do a better job at tapping into your emotions than films do.

2018-08-27 22:06:57 UTC

i would agree

2018-08-27 22:07:10 UTC

i've been more emotionally invested in most books than movies

2018-08-27 22:07:28 UTC

definitely.

2018-08-27 22:07:40 UTC

they also feel like they can go on for much longer periods than movies or shows without losing interest

2018-08-27 22:07:58 UTC

I think that has more to do with the quality of modern film

2018-08-27 22:09:18 UTC

Like mostly my issue with film is that it's too passive, but I also just play vidya instead, which is also audiovisual

2018-08-27 22:11:56 UTC

I don't think it is to do with new films not being as good as old. I think it is to do with the medium of a book.

2018-08-27 22:13:00 UTC

1 book usually covers as much if not more than a movie, and it can sometimes take several comics to cover the same amount of story distance as them.

2018-08-27 22:15:52 UTC

It heavily depends on the book and comic

2018-08-27 22:16:07 UTC

And it'll cover more than a movie, but not necessarily more than a series

2018-08-27 22:16:48 UTC

a single book won't cover more than a series, but a series of books will cover so much stuff.
