Less pass out more crippling depression
@Joey4Track (POLEMIC HEART) yes because it has to do with the entire medium of comics. It is literally that it is a comic. Idk why, I can't explain it. Literally make it a movie or give me a novel but a comic? Idk why it just does nothing for me. Which is annoying because as I said I love the stories.
crippling depression, is that from that crazy fuck that was eating dog shit in youtube?
@Grenade123 manga is objectively better than anime tho. Checkmate atheists
I would have to care about either to make that call.
There's actually good stuff to be found in there if you're willing to look
And if you're already willing to watch modern cinema it's not like you're going to notice anything but a jump in quality anyway :^)
He couldn't ruin that anthem tho
Generally, yes
i mean, there are always exceptions.
Well visual and auditory stimuli both create powerful emotional responses
You're not always going to get the same reaction out of a book
Because even when you're in your reading groove you're not as connected as if you were trying your damnedest to simulate being there
i think that depends on the person
I think it more so depends on the work
i think my problem with comics is its like half way between a visual element and a written element.
I've thrown a book to the floor as an adult, I haven't had to stop watching a film since I was 12. I've cried at books as an adult, I haven't cried at a film since I was 14 or so. I think books do a better job at tapping into your emotions than films do.
i would agree
i've been more emotionally invested in most books than movies
definitely.
they also feel like they can go on for much longer periods than movies or shows without losing interest
I think that has more to do with the quality of modern film
Like mostly my issue with film is that it's too passive, but I also just play vidya instead, which is also audiovisual
I don't think it is to do with new films not being as good as old. I think it is to do with the medium of a book.
1 book usually covers as much if not more than a movie, and it can sometimes take several comics to cover the same amount of story distance as them.
It heavily depends on the book and comic
And it'll cover more than a movie, but not necessarily more than a series
a single book won't cover more than a series, but a series of books will cover so much stuff.
