hello everyone!

2019-10-11 01:11:09 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

you were asking what quarks and other subatomic particles are made of because we know that they appear and disappear, pull information from nowhere, etc, right? @ShyGuyfromUpHigh

2019-10-11 01:11:31 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

we know quantum mechanics as a very odd and nonsensical science

2019-10-11 01:12:05 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

double sit experiment, heisenberg's uncertainty principle, etc.

2019-10-11 01:12:45 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

I don't have an argument right now, im neutral to both sides of the simulated universe theory

2019-10-11 01:12:58 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

im just saying what I know

2019-10-11 01:14:24 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

the way subatomic particles behave doesn't make much sense when it comes to the physics we know. Im not trying to poke holes in quantum mechanics

2019-10-11 01:15:03 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

that's not true. i think there is a beauty in being the only creatures in a massive universe. just because the world out there is huge doesn't mean we're insignificant.

2019-10-11 01:16:16 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

all Im saying is that they act strangely

2019-10-11 01:16:25 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

i dont know much aside from the basics

2019-10-11 01:16:57 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

i feel like you're trying to make an argument, but i dont really know what it's about

2019-10-11 01:17:53 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

ah yeah, i was just trying to take the place of the other person because they seemed unwilling to discuss the topic

2019-10-11 01:18:35 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

there was a quote...something about if you think you understand quantum mechanics, you don't

2019-10-11 01:18:36 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

lmao

no shame in anime with subs @Matt77

2019-10-11 03:21:26 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

that's a false analogy, because if you watch raw, you're nothing short of a god @Matt77

2019-10-11 03:21:32 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

so you pretty much know everything

if the object is moving away

2019-10-11 03:23:12 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

it redshifts

2019-10-11 03:23:25 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

if its moving closer it uuuh

2019-10-11 03:23:34 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

blueshifts or something

2019-10-11 03:24:17 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

because light is made out of nonliving things

🚶

2019-10-11 03:25:08 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

light acts as a wave and then it decides to act like a particle. make up your damn mind

2019-10-11 03:25:14 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

smh

2019-10-11 03:25:29 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

wait

2019-10-11 03:25:45 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

as a flat earther do you believe at all in subatomic particles? @Umwhat

2019-10-11 03:25:51 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

or particles at all?

2019-10-11 03:26:53 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

quantum mechanics and astrophysics cross over a lot

2019-10-11 03:27:04 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

if you reject one you're likely to reject the other

2019-10-11 03:27:54 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

why would you reject all science?

2019-10-11 03:28:15 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

interpretations or theories? 🤔

well

2019-10-11 03:29:10 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

according to science its pretty curvy

2019-10-11 03:29:17 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

just take up a curve calculator

2019-10-11 03:29:26 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

take into account atmospheric refraction

2019-10-11 03:29:30 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

and take some pictures

2019-10-11 03:29:31 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

EZ

2019-10-11 03:30:21 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

can you give an example?

2019-10-11 03:31:29 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

huh, I thought flat space was already accepted by most scientists

2019-10-11 03:31:30 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

yeah

2019-10-11 03:31:44 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

2019-10-11 03:32:20 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

i didn't think that analogy worked

2019-10-11 03:32:23 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

but oh well

2019-10-11 03:32:26 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

yeah, tis flat

2019-10-11 03:32:32 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

we're flat spacers

2019-10-11 03:33:04 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

the existence of dark energy gives an even higher likeliness of it being flat

2019-10-11 03:33:33 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

that really warps my mind

2019-10-11 03:33:43 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

how flat the universe had to be when it was small in order for it to still be flat now

2019-10-11 03:35:31 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

they're just called that way because they eat up all the light that comes their way

2019-10-11 03:35:37 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

they look like a 'black hole'

2019-10-11 03:35:40 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

in space

2019-10-11 03:36:33 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

whoa

2019-10-11 03:36:44 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

why *are* black holes round?

2019-10-11 03:36:52 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

🚶

2019-10-11 03:37:40 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

well

2019-10-11 03:37:47 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

i dont think sunrazor is making up theories on the spot

2019-10-11 03:37:49 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

he's referencing them

2019-10-11 03:37:57 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

he makes it clear when he is speculating

2019-10-11 03:39:05 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

Snell's law

a law stating that the ratio of the sines of the angles of incidence and refraction of a wave are constant when it passes between two given media.

2019-10-11 03:39:20 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

everyone has their own ideas and biases

2019-10-11 03:39:51 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

there's always something that we don't know about...curiosity will drive us to make our own conclusions about what those unknown things are

2019-10-11 03:40:37 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

the second most passive aggressive message you can send

2019-10-11 03:40:40 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

second to 'k'

2019-10-11 03:40:54 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

k

2019-10-11 03:44:38 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

wait what's your theory here?

2019-10-11 03:45:45 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

gravity being a gradient? that's...interesting

2019-10-11 03:54:47 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

i find it interesting that you guys are giggling and laughing at 'globe earthers', for leaving the vc, claiming that the person left because they didnt have evidence - something which you cant confirm yourselves. when, funny enough, flat earthers dont have a working map or any map that accurately reflects reality either, so i dont see whats so funny @Spectranaut

2019-10-11 03:54:55 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

it just came off as really abrasive to me

2019-10-11 03:56:59 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

I always viewed gravity this way...fabric of spacetime, gravity is a sort of distortion caused by large objects in spacetime, and it pulls stuff in, etc. @SunRazor

2019-10-11 04:03:46 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

@Logrian that balloon pioneers image you posted...why are you commenting about NASA using cgi in regards to it?

2019-10-11 04:03:55 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

its just an image of the sky

2019-10-11 04:04:00 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

people knew what the sky looked like back then

2019-10-11 04:04:13 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

anyone would know that image wasnt real

2019-10-11 04:04:34 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

can you send the source of that image

2019-10-11 19:10:36 UTC [The Ice Wall #flat-earth]

ok so i found out that in the flat earth model the sun is 'local' and goes around the flat earth in a circle. in order for it to move sooo far in only 24 hours it would have to be moving at 1000+ mph

2019-10-11 19:10:58 UTC [The Ice Wall #flat-earth]

with the sun being local, why doesnt it leave some sort of trail behind it?

2019-10-11 19:11:18 UTC [The Ice Wall #flat-earth]

because its colliding with particles in the atmosphere

2019-10-11 19:11:27 UTC [The Ice Wall #flat-earth]

it is also giving off light isnt it

2019-10-11 19:11:47 UTC [The Ice Wall #flat-earth]

idk what you guys think its made of

2019-10-11 19:12:06 UTC [The Ice Wall #flat-earth]

but if you look at anything traveling that fast in the atmosphere it usually leaves a trail of some sort

2019-10-11 19:12:36 UTC [The Ice Wall #flat-earth]

atmosphere meaning inside of the dome right?

2019-10-11 19:12:52 UTC [The Ice Wall #flat-earth]

the maps im looking at

2019-10-11 19:13:33 UTC [The Ice Wall #flat-earth]

thats strange because everywhere i go flat earthers tell me different things

2019-10-11 19:13:49 UTC [The Ice Wall #flat-earth]

i wish theyd give me consistent ideas

2019-10-11 22:56:50 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

Gravity did not create the universe.

2019-10-11 22:57:54 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

Gravity is a force that increases in strength the larger an object is. The effects of my gravity and someone else's are not strong enough to overcome other forces.

2019-10-11 22:58:46 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

However, on a large scale, gravity is an incredibly strong force - strong enough to hold superclusters of galaxies together.

2019-10-11 23:01:08 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

Gravity also works differently on interplanetary scales than you might think. The reason why planets don't get locked in place around a star and instead move around them, is because gravity is causing the planet to constantly fall towards the star. However, the planet will miss the star every time. This causes a circular orbit.

2019-10-11 23:01:37 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

Its the same reason why satellites orbit the earth the way they do
