I would say yes but you would have to define utility in a broader sense than wealth
yes of course
I don't think anyone can deny this
But it's not the end all
I think you need to have expanded material possibilities for sure,
@๏ผฉ๏ผถ ๏ผฌ๏ผฉ ๏ผถ ๏ผณ has a good point
without wealth we have stone age stuff lol

I think the individual is the 'base unit' since it's the smallest thing that you can break a society into.
see that is interesting, I'd say that the community has an economy more than a family @AnarchoReign
lol
ah I see
why can it not be boiled down to the individual then
because of concern for future generations?
I would say an economy is composed of different agents using resources, so there is nothing to say that they have to replenish and reproduce. Sure, I will agree that families must prosper for us to have what we call a 'good' distribution of resources but I don't think it's necessary to examine the economy purely at that level.
saying the individual is the basic unit doesn't mean that you ignore the wider picture
capitalists look at the society very often I'd say
instead of single agents
College is not so left wing. I think a few institutions might be but your state schools, smaller colleges, etc are generally not so lefty as your Yales.
these are where most people in the US go to school at least
united europe for the sake of having 'europe' is silly
nations align for their interests
Bernie or Ocasio-Cortez, ideologically not actually in the race

Military is the most right
perhaps academia is the most left, but only certain disciplines I reckon
tbh I would say primary sector work will tend to have more conservative people
so that's also farming, mining, extraction
there's rural community issues and also land-use conflicts with the government which drive them to that in some ways
potentially, but you would do it wholly by accident and it would be unlikely

@Alice Redacted being higher up in the military takes mastery of mind lol
