EU should unite to reform the Roman Empire
Make Latin the official European language again
@Jasse So they can finally have power and relevance again
Yeah I support imperialism
Expansionism for mutual benefit
EU becomes a centralized unitary state and expands into Africa and Eastern Europe
Found the Germanic
Whyโs that?
A region economically benefits from unified and simplified laws and regulations as well as a common currency
Makes capitalism much easier to happen
Not to mention a common language makes trade much smoother
Capitalism usually brings along mutual prosperity
And the interests of Europe can best be protected if Europe were united
Couldn't culture be distinct from the law?
Regions may retain their local culture and let it naturally evolve and mix over time. There's no reason for a government or series of laws to change this
I admit the Latin part was a bit dumb, but still, unification offers more good than bad. Look at the unification of Germany under Bismarck
I doubt all Germans are ethnically identical
They've rarely ever been unified in their history, starting off as small barbaric tribes to a clusterfuck of tiny kingdoms
Yet they were still able to unify despite differences in culture and history
Because the Roman Empire was sexy
Then Europe will remain fractured, having the many different ethnicities cooperating only within their small group identity
The people may be happier this way, sure, but they will be weak, easily dominated by a stronger foreign force
That's true I agree that Europe outclassed Asia in technology because of the existential pressure to advance war tech
But I don't see Europe waging war against itself now. And governments competing with each other isn't as good as corporations competing
And capitalist competition does occur in a more open market unhindered by governments
So would you say governments would compete to have better policies so that citizens wouldn't emigrate to neighboring governments?
i.e. Switzerland
However, it does prevent trans-cultural diffusion
European cultures can learn technologies from each other, though this only happens through contact
What
I think spanking shows a weakness in character from the parent if they aren't capable of instilling reason into the child with rational arguments
Do they even learn WHY an action is wrong in the first place then?
All they know is the punishment
Leading by example won't work?
If a child learns he gets punished for doing something then rationally that should encourage him to lie and cover up
I think what's worse than being punished for doing something wrong is not being congratulated for doing something good
Or you could make him do yard work
But that might make him associate physical labor with punishment
So idk
Murdoch-chan is supreme waifu
โWhat is Russia famous for?โ
โRussians.โ
Bring back expansionism
Praise Jesus
Thatโs sexy
Make the Roman Empire great again
i just saw my life
flash before my eyes
Jesus Christ all the mods are awake at this hour
In the end, none of this really matters.
I don't see a point in placing meaning in something where there isn't any.
Why should the universe care about you? Why should all the stars and nebulas regard your existence as something significant? The universe existed before you were born, and it will continue existing longer afterwards.
UwU
My daddy is Israeli
He served in the army for some time
Ask me anything
Come to the VC yโall
It happens
So I think the problems of capitalism can be chalked up to governments giving tax breaks and subsidy benefits to the largest corporations
Basically taking the taxpayer money of the middle class and offering it to the elite as a subsidy
What's happening here?
I would never trust a single person with the welfare of millions
We need more fucking capitalism
Pelosi is in
