I just don't want it pushed to the federal level.

the problem with anything is when people start using it to define some kind of perceived superiority / heirarchy

You see it with coffee snobs

wine snobs

vegan snobs

none of those things are inherently bad

People sometimes just attach the negative emotions of the prominent snobs of those groups

to the items / actions as a whole

I think this concept has broader implications though:

I think many of the issues we are divided on as a nation arise from "snobs" trying to enforce their views of morality / superiority on each other

It's such an easy trap to fall into, and I think both "the right' and "the left" are guilty of it

Though I think the left is being driven to the left much faster...as their heirarchy incentivizes constant change for the sake of change itself (rather than any definite end-goal)

I think people get a high off "the fight"....humans instinctually want a war and an enemy

Tyranny by the majority is a real possibility in the next few decades...what happens if we loose the chance to be represented at the national level?

All this talk about allowing non-citizens to vote....that would do it. You'd never have another conservative president again.

What do we do at that point? Just let NY and CA rule us from afar? Or do we at some point kindly tell them that we want to go our own way.

If it comes to it, we have to be ready to kindly tell them we're going our own way....and stand up for ourselves if they try to tread.

a line that says "once this point is crossed, we're out"

Those events only happened because people stood up, drew a line, and said "enough is enough".

Modern politics changes slowly to prevent people from forming such attitudes

So, we need to draw a line...if it's crossed tomorrow, 10 years from now, whenever

We decide to peacefully go our own way

The point still stands....our 2A won't do us any good if it doesn't allow the people the opportunity to self-govern, if they think their federal government doesn't represent them anymore

But we've let the Left be the only activists in our modern society....conservatives have just wanted to live their lives

We have to be ready to stand up for what we believe in sometime down the road

I fear that too many of us will just roll over and let it happen, should the left call for authoritarianism

We have to convince like minded people to be ready to some day defend their views if necessary

And support autonomy for certain states

Should the need arise

(hopefully it doesn't)
but I don't like the direction we're headed in

Don't be a defeatist

Do something about it

Change minds as much as you can
