China is using their belt and Road initiative as a back door barely cover way of getting overseas bases

The scary thing is is that a China versus India fight is a lot fairer than most people realize

The Indian troops have vastly more combat experience in the near-term and have better air power

India spends more on their infantry troops per capita than China, and considering the PLA's last land war was against Vietnam where they got their asses handed to them

I would actually say the advantage tactics wise and Equipment wise would definitely fall on India's side here the only question would be would China be able to project Naval power to isolate and contain India and I don't think they would be able to

Training and and strategy are all good, but you can't underestimate someone motivated for their fight, someone who knows their land, and their sheer number of manpower and pieces of equipment.

Look at Germany vs Russia in wwii. Germany had them simply outclassed in most tech depts, they had the world outclassed in battle tactics, and they threw battle hardened and extremely well trained troops into it.

At the onset of the engagement, most of the Russian soldiers were conscripts, heavily underequipped, they lacked communication via radio in all but the command structure, and their equipment they did have was not really a match for the germans. The t-34s were known for build flaws like holes in between plates of armor big enough to fit your arm through. But it was good enough. That and they had a near limitless number of men and once production ramped up, a near limitless supply of tanks and other equipment, that the superior force couldn't keep up.

Same with Vietnam: the US had a much better military, but lost because the Vietcong had more willpower.

And WW2 in the Pacific. In 1941, Japan had a better Navy than US, but US had better production after Pearl Harbor and the will to win.
