stupid people should 100% be part of the testing process when it comes to tech. I can't tell you how many Arcade Games I deal with that are just completely unusable because the manufacturer didn't account for the stupidity of the average person that goes to an arcade

and every time the game is up and running some fucking retard manages to destroy it within the hour

I used to have a small arcade route. Always sad to watch fully grown adults overhand skeeballs into the wall behind the machine.

I worked in QA testing once, for a local game company. It was the most soul sucking thing I ever did

You had to do the exact same action, in every possible spot

In Japan I never seen a broken Arcade

And there's a lot here

They do a lot of maintenance though

Watching some people play arcade games gives me an aneurism

Literally all of them, whether it's coin pushers, ticket redemption games, or video games

People just do the stupidest shit

I've pulled hot dogs out of Skee Ball machines

We kicked someone out once for changing their kid's diaper on one of the games

I've seen people insert a credit card into a make a wish pac man donation bill collector

There's nothing like that over here

The skill the average player here has is actually quite high too

Which really makes it obvious when a casual player comes in

I've seen people credit a game that was loudly blaring an error message 17 times because they didn't know it was broken

I was once asked if my arcade had any left handed bowling balls

Because she couldn't use the right handed people ones

I remember fixing a driving game once at a friend's arcade, it was off and a young kid came over and sat down on the seat and put a coin in. The dad came over and yelled "HEY! ARE YOU FUCKING STUPID? CAN'T YOU SEE HE'S WORKING ON IT?!" and physically removed the kid kicking and screaming

Where I work I'd get yelled at by the parent for stealing their money if that happened

I had a guy throw me against a game & threaten to knife me in the parking lot because I stopped his daughter from crediting a game that I had just been told by another guest was broken

She credited it, it didn't work

He then accused me of theft

I believe it, people get extremely aggressive

People are fucking stupid

We had to label all the skee ball lanes because people couldn't figure out which credit line went to witch lane. So they'd credit skee ball #2 and throw all the balls down lane 3

After labeling them people just got more confused and refused to listen to us when we tried to explain they were on the wrong lane

I refuse to believe machines can ever take over my job. Machines can't account for human stupidity.

My route was in a fairly rich area, so my problem was mainly with the store's staff where I had the games more than anything. Totally and 100% inept retards.
