!agree
hey kids
1/8th Cherokee here running for congress
@Nine still a better love story than twilight
that's erotic
honestly
race isn't a thing, and heritage is a trap
in general
can Tim please talk about florida governed race QQ
we have a mindless socialist running who's plan is to make Floridians homeless LOL
No joke he wants to implement Medicare for all, and his best answer to pay for it is going to two or three other states and going in together knowing that we can't put in a proportional amount of money to pay for how much we would use it
So basically going to other states and asking for their state tax money LMAO
What his other option is even worse, which is cranking up property taxes and implementing a 20% income tax
Fun fact about Florida, it's got the same problem California does where everyone out-of-state invests in real estate in Florida
So even in small towns rent is way inflated, borderline unaffordable
Mathematically someone who makes 15 an hour would end up spending $800 a month more just to get Medicare
And I don't know anybody when f****** brain cells that would pay $800 a month for Medicare
Not just that LMAO
But he doesn't seem to know what governor does
It's part of his platform that he's for impeaching Trump
Even an interviews people remind him that Governor doesn't actually vote on that
Then he starts talking about it's not just about Florida it's about Haiti, and Puerto Rico
Like mother f***** you're not the governor of Haiti of Puerto Rico
Well luckily we have a moderate Republican that actually had a plan prior to our algae crisis
Of course Rick Scott is a piece of s***
But desantis is looking pretty good
Well he was talking about building a water containment Facility South of Okeechobee to prevent the runoff from getting out into the ocean were it f*** s*** up
As far as the Socialist he ran his town into the ground
Crime rates there have gone through the roof
They had like seven hundred crimes in a six month period
Apparently they actually beat out Jacksonville in murders per capita this year, but don't quote me on that
To me it's just crazy that the choice the left is providing is basically Obama 2.0
Like here is a black man who speaks calmly, vote for him
Is that the best the Democratic party can provide as an alternative to the Republicans?
Is this a game where I get to choose between Denmark and Gulag level socialists?
I mean tell me wrong, I'm glad I have a moderate Republican to vote for
But I have the same issues that $10, as someone that's moderate I need a decent alternative on the left
I like half a say Tim does, it autocorrects to $10
Speech to text is a hell of a drug
Anyone else really enjoying timcast?
I liked him before, but the timcast format makes him so much edgier and frustrated LMAO
You know, I will always be a Centrist
But in reality the left is going way too far to the left and the right is happy to go towards the center to pick up those votes
I think the issue is that even though the definitions of where the line is drawn changes, people like Tim make the mistake of thinking that his values are tied to the name left and right
When in reality I'm simply uncompromising to my values even if the political landscape changes around me, I would still say I'm a Centrist, even if at this point I'm like 80% Republican because of how much we have shifted to the left
My biggest worry at this point is the left losing another 2 or 4 years in a row
And then just radicalizing and trying to overthrow the government
A second biggest fear is that by the time the next generation is a beige, the Red Wave will become so hyper dominant that the left won't even be competition anymore and it'll simply turn into who can be more right-wing
*next generation is of age
Yeah, and that's a terrible thing LMAO
The capitalist in me wants people to compete because we win
At the moment it's not really direct competition it's more or less just hysteria on both ends of the spectrum with a large chunk of Common Sense siding with the right at this point
Well, the funny thing is, today I am practically considered conservative but in 2006 when I graduated high school and was able to vote I would very clearly be considered a liberal
What part of me just thought about it in a more abstract archetypical sense
If progress is against conservation
Progress will eventually reach the point where it is no longer useful, and at that point conserving progress is more important
If the progressive representation is no longer useful, they might create their own problems just to remain relevant
Check your f****** pronouns
Well in my case I will always be pro-choice even if I can see valid arguments
And that's mainly just because I think some people shouldn't breed LMAO
So in reality it would just be people fighting to be moderate
Adopting ideas the previous left had, in the aftermath of their own train wreck
It just doesn't seem like a winning strategy
Yes they are
Why don't really look at it as liberal vs conservative
I look at us Progressive versus conservative
Even though the word Progressive might be the wrong word to use
It's a matter of attempt to change versus keep what's working
What is important because I look at conservatives the way you would look at a control
And the progressive in theory should be the variable, and when they push for a small change, we should be able to objectively look back and see if it was worse or better than what we had
Yeah I mean don't get me wrong American politics is so beyond f***** up
I don't feel like either party represents core ideas
Like I have no idea why the right-wing has adopted Christian traditionalism as a large part of their platform
It depends, I see plenty of obstacles
Religion just doesn't have a place in government, especially when it is to decide policy
I would say I definitely lean libertarian
And my Solutions to some of those problems do not use religion as a factor
I'm not saying religion doesn't have utility, in fact anybody who ignores that is willfully ignorant
The issue is that some of the principles that religion adopted serve utility at a time but are vestigial now
A good example would be homophobia
There's no utility and homophobia in 2018
But it still remains part of a religion, and obstructed legislature to prevent marriage of it
A my stance would simply be that marriage should not be part of the government at all anyways
If two or more people want to form some sort of civil legal binding agreement they should be able to
Capitalism is pretty Progressive LMAO
those are different
one is about abuse
the other is consenting adults
FUCK YOU
brb
back
okay so no bois
being gay isnt a mental illness
i actually would argue it's a natural consequence of abundance
look at previous empires that homophobia vs didnt
homophobia had utility when people starved and died all the time
you couldnt afford not to participate in reproduction
but when abundance was there, birth rates naturally slowed - people were less interested in having children, and homosexuality was okay
they could AFFORD sex for fun
ofcourse sometimes that was because of slavery XD
it does, but at the same time
