Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't white people indigenous to Ireland?

2018-11-22 15:48:38 UTC

Perhaps I should rephrase.

2018-11-22 15:48:50 UTC

Aren't the indigenous people of Ireland white?

2018-11-22 15:49:04 UTC

**YES**

2018-11-22 15:49:54 UTC

Maybe they should show up to the conference draped in raw wool and smeared in woad.

2018-11-22 15:51:09 UTC

Maybe they should all drop dead

2018-11-22 15:51:38 UTC

Also from the article

_"Shubhangi Karmakar, the Treasurer of the Graduate Students’ Union (GSU) and the founder of Repealist, said in a tweet that “pale and female is getting a bit stale too”."_

2018-11-22 15:51:46 UTC

Heeeeeeeeeeeeelp

2018-11-22 15:52:52 UTC

Nothing can save them. The European continent is lost.

2018-11-22 16:48:41 UTC

at least we're not sinking in the atlantic

2018-11-22 18:15:54 UTC

Ireland has no counter voice to the progressives

2018-11-22 18:19:20 UTC

Our media and academics adore them, both our big parties pander to them, we have passive aggressive progressives on the ground, we've voted overwhelmingly progressive in the last two referendums, and we're all spouting the same "EU great, migrant crisis great, everything I don't like is alt right" rhetoric

2018-11-22 18:19:48 UTC

At least the UK and US have some parties offering diversity of thought

2018-11-22 18:21:01 UTC

Our 'alternative', the national party, is teensy tiny

2018-11-22 19:07:34 UTC

Reminds me of my home country of Canada

2018-11-22 19:13:00 UTC

Wow

2018-11-22 19:13:08 UTC

That sounds like hell

2018-11-22 19:13:21 UTC

God, could you imagine being a conservative in Sweden?

2018-11-22 19:14:19 UTC

Or even just a left or right libertarian would probably still be ostracized there

2018-11-22 19:14:28 UTC

Centrist

2018-11-22 19:15:00 UTC

I can't wait until we start hearing about people being actively punished by the government for wrongth--oh wait that's already been happening nvm

2018-11-22 19:38:55 UTC

The big difference here in Canada is that our alternative (conservative) party is too corporatist and in some cases too traditionally conservative. The liberals were our center-left party that were supposed to be the reasonable ones, but they've fallen off the rails entirely and joined the NDP (socialist party) when it comes to social issues but not on economic issues.

2018-11-22 19:39:19 UTC

Cons also like progshit

2018-11-22 19:39:33 UTC

Liberals are just neolibs+socjus like the Dems

2018-11-22 19:39:51 UTC

This is why the People's Party is the only real opposition rn

2018-11-22 19:41:20 UTC

I would say that the liberals were still pro-capitalist but at this point I don't even think Trudeau takes the economy into consideration. Back when the whole pipeline fiasco had started in the news, Trudeau ran off to NYU for a public speaking event. He still hasn't done anything, essentially letting our oil industry pack up and leave.

2018-11-22 19:41:53 UTC

He's spineless to the point where he's afraid to take sides

2018-11-22 19:42:13 UTC

Neolibs aren't necessarily pro market, just pro corporate

2018-11-22 19:42:23 UTC

Pro global trade as well

2018-11-22 19:43:51 UTC

I could probably go all day typing walls of text about this stuff. I need a youtube channel lol

2018-11-22 19:43:58 UTC

Wew

2018-11-22 19:44:34 UTC

But yeah the PPC is really the only alternative to stagnation

2018-11-22 19:44:45 UTC

Biggest issue here is apathy

2018-11-22 19:45:56 UTC

I haven't really taken much of a look at the PPC, just kinda assumed that it would be taken over by ethnonationalists as those types of parties usually are

2018-11-22 19:46:54 UTC

They're getting a lot of the more actual right wing con base and the libertarians from what I can tell
https://www.peoplespartyofcanada.ca/platform

2018-11-22 19:47:08 UTC

So far it's just Classical Liberalism: The Party

2018-11-22 19:47:45 UTC

I really hope so, if they can gain some popularity and maintain this center-left/right balance then I would definitely vote for them in 2019

2018-11-22 19:48:26 UTC

I know a hardcore Libertarian who immediately signed up to be a founding member

2018-11-22 19:48:54 UTC

Otherwise I don't think I'd even vote. Scheer just seems like a conservative version of Trudeau but with a better speaking ability

2018-11-22 19:49:57 UTC

That's why Bernier left the cons

2018-11-22 19:52:09 UTC

Because Scheer is going to do a lot of the same shit as Trudeau
