Last time i went to the range i shot a friend's albanian sks, i liked it
Much softer to shoot than an ak and skses have an aesthetic to them
I tried using the semi-auto Sten in the photo but it jammed on me
I want to buy a russian sks at some point
Any love for the CETME roller delay system in the house tonight?
The SKS had a good kick but the Mosin had a considerable kickback
SKS shoots 7.62x39, it's an intermediate cartridge and the SKS itself is a fairly heavy rifle so recoil isn't too bad
7.62x54r has a lot more kick to it
This is him after getting konked in the forehead by the scope as he was using a slug round in the shotgun
I like the kick on a mosin though
Since mine is a carbine it makes a fireball every time i shoot it
7.62 Russian is about a .30-06 or 7.62NATO
Closer to nato
Thats a big range
Must be hell to change targets
This is for the rifles and long guns
There is a separate area for archery and pistols
I can hit up to 150m with scope but 100m is optimal on iron sights
For the SKS?
The SKS on the latter
The range goes up to 200m I believe
7.62Soviet is a 300m round, you can do further, but it is minute of man at 300m for most
The outdoor range near me(2 hour drive sadly) is 100m but they're building a 600m range and that should be ready in the spring
I have an indoor range 30 mins away that goes up to 100m but they cost more, especially if you don't have a membership
When i start my job i'll probably get a membership for them, i want to buy a CMP M1 garand too
I tried using a smaller rifle with a scope and I was wobbling too much to aim to the furthest target
I was using the SKS and AR-15 mostly
SKS is fun, fuck import bans
Canadians get them for $200-300 cad
Yeah that is minute of man. If I may, grab a 1903A4 if you can find a cheep one. They are 500m rifles
I think my friend paid like $600
Damn he overpaid then unless it was never fired
You can buy a russian one in good condition for that
It's something that was used in the 1980s according to him and not something milled in the 2000s
It was covered in that gunk when he got it
Yugo SKSes are the most recently manufactured ones out of the 3 most popular sks types(russian, chinese, yugo)
Probably covered in cosmoline for long term storage
Yep, cosmoline
