Define "alternative". Do you mean in the sense of what a woman can potentially provide to a man or an alternative to sexual reproduction? Because for one, we don't need women. All a woman does is provide a relief for sexual tension and companionship; both of which aren't necessary for our survival as men. Our needs and our wants are oceans apart. If in order to reproduce, it may be the case that biogenetics and bioengineering may need to essentially build, for all intents and purposes, an entire women in order for the correct combination of parts that makes up a woman (hormones, immuno-pathological systems, organs, etc.), in order for the reproductive function to occur.
