I mean, as fun as it would be for me as a non-white, intersex-femme, disabled, asexual rape survivor to trigger them and make them feel helpless to stop it, it sounds like a waste of money

i'm sure it's easy, I found social work easy, but college costs money (and not just the classes: there's also textbooks, travel expenses, pens and paper, etc) and i'm on disability so I've only got $750 a month to work with

I had a proto-SJW teacher in college and I really upset her by saying that the statement "murder is worse than rape" is a value judgment

we were talking about social values and ethics and she said that murder is universally worse than rape...i immediately started shaking my head no and she was like "what? you disagree?" and I was like "yeah, I think that's a value judgment" and she was super confused and felt bad and asked me to explain and I was like "well, in middle eastern and Indian subcontinent cultures, women who get raped are typically killed by their family because the family consider the rape to be worse than the murder"

and then to further drive home the point I said "and I mean think about it, how many rape victims have you treated in your practice as a psychologist and how many murder victims have you treated? Rape victims have to live with the psychological effects, but murder victims aren't complaining."

i also inadvertently caused the creation of safe spaces on campus

one of my friends had a panic attack when the teacher shut off the light and she ran out of the classroom, and always being one to want to skip class if I could get away with it, I volunteered to go help her and sat with her in the hall for the next few hours, then complained about the lack of a space to go to when stuff like this happened

i kind of feel bad about what safe spaces have become but I mean, it wasn't malicious on my part, I was just being lazy and genuinely trying to help my friend

I mean, people like my friend and I genuinely could've benefited from a quiet room that wasn't locked where we could go to calm down from panic attacks, and it sucks that there wasn't one at the time, but yeah, now it's just "no one can say anything mean ever"

I brought this same girl to my house this one time so we could do homework (I was living with my grandmother and my aunt and uncle had come over) and my afterwards my aunt said "she's really sweet but she doesn't talk about her family that much" and I said "that's because her dad's a serial killer". My aunt snapped "that's not funny" and I was all...yeah it wasn't a joke...her dad's on death row for murdering several people...

that was a fun shopping trip...I went to the mall, found something purple and black, and asked some random guy who was waiting for his girlfriend to get done in the dressing room "is this sexy" and he turned red and was like "what" and I was like "is this sexy? I don't have a frame of reference, so like, is this a sexy thing" and he was like "um...yeah" so I brought it to the counter and the lady was all "um, this is way too small for you sweetie" so i said "yeah i know, it's not for me" so she said "oh...do you want it gift wrapped?" so i had this really fancy thing in really fancy gift wrap and long story short, after that everyone believed i was a lesbian 😛

and i just didn't care enough to argue so 🤷
