Just had a chat with someone about Tommy Robinson's imprisonment. Told them how he didn't eat for fear of being poisoned and didn't open his window for fear of having stuff chucked into it. Their response was first "Well, he's got a point there!" and "If he's worried about that, he MUST be doing something wrong!" I guess that, contrary to popular belief, you CAN victim blame, as long as the victim is a white male non-left winger.

More seminars about inclusion and diversity at work today. We were told to report any speech made against our LGBT+ colleagues that we "felt was wrong" (felt, not know). Banter is no excuse, we were told to think "what if these people were talking about your brother/father/mother/best friend in this way." Then I come home to find out that Kit Harington has slammed Marvel for not including LGBT+ performers in their movies. There is no escape.

Doesn't matter. There are people in this world (apparently) that think that LGBT+ is just a Tumblr and he finds that appalling.
Watching all my friends descend into "orange man bad" NPCs is actually quite distressing. Makes me feel very lonely.

Quite a watershed moment for me right now; I was invited aound to my parents house for dinner, and my mum asked me if it was okay to refer to black people as "black". Despite wrestling with PC Dogma 4 years, I didn't know what to tell her. Even the new return "poc" still ruffles some feathers. Either way, it was a good opportunity to vent my frustrations about trying to please everyone when there's always one person who will be offended, meaning you have failed.
