well players are about to die. at least one.
they decided to fight the goblin gangs head on as they are having their meeting.
but now...
We have the tortle tank huddled up in his shell as hes being hit by 2 bug bears pelting him with morning stars in an alley way. With others behind them to keep him stuck in the hallway. One of these bugbears is a gang boss and has more hp and dps.

Another player is jumping between roofs as he kites a troll whom he still needs to deal a bit of fire or acid dmg to to actually kill it. all the while there are 2 boss hobgoblins hurling longbow shot with that extra 2d6 per round dmg.

And lastly our fighter who is mostly bows is at 10 hp and without a health pot. But he is in the clear to run away if he deems it a lost cause. This guy is the only one to kill a rouge goblin boss.

They still have in total 2 hobgoblin bosses, a goblin wizard, a Nilbog, and a Bugbear boss to deal with.
That isnt even including the almost dead troll, 2 Bugbear thugs, another drunk bugbear, 1 normal Hobgoblin, and a single goblin they haven't seen yet.

tank is sat without actions till someone can save him, but he only has 23 hp left.
but he is "retreated into shell" giving him 22 AC

the bug bears will need to roll an 18 or higher to actually hit. but they are flanking a prone turtle. so there's a 30% chance each time they attack he will take dmg. With 2 around him in this hallway that makes a 60% chance per round to get hit.

averaging 11 dmg per turn... he will maybe last give or take critical hits.... 3 rounds

we have 9 days to get to phandelver, set a trap and train peasants to kill this thing... or ill have to give him the location so that we can kill it later.
