I can try to make it to the Iowa rally.

Hell yeah!

Iโ€™m going to upgrade my holster to a kydex one then itโ€™s time for the radio

Yeah. Thereโ€™s loads of resources on it though. My friend just got one so he can help my dumb self through it

I am. If only for the educational/liability merits.

Yeah Iโ€™m sure you could. Just google ham radio license and it should give you what you need.

While this is better than literally nothing, I feel like I would still die if someone had just that to treat me for major trauma. A real CAT tourniquet costs about $30. Thatโ€™s a knock off. My ifak cost me about $150, but I trust my life with what I have in it.

Imma drop links to my stuff quick

Thatโ€™s an excellent post

Hereโ€™s my pouch

Hereโ€™s the kit I packed it with. I also have a CAT secured to the outside of it

You get what you pay for.

Thatโ€™s what my ifak is for if Iโ€™m in a gun fight. I hope my goons have their own ifak if they need treatment. What ifak you getting?

Not bad. Cop some hemostatic z fold gauze and swap out the black for blue gloves and thatโ€™s pretty dang solid.

Carrying a burn dressing and eye shields never goes amiss either.

Oh and a Sam splint. If youโ€™re the medic, do you know how to use decomp needles, take pulse/blood pressure, etc?

If so, may I join your goon squad?๐Ÿ˜‚

Date and address?

Honestly Iโ€™d boog to lofi

Yโ€™all, should I get a uv-5r? Or is there a more high quality affordable alternative?

Aight. I know theyโ€™re Chinese cheap radios but I feel like I should have something. I donโ€™t know enough about radios to get into a $300 radio

what holster should I get for my glock 17

This is my duty holster

I'd like active retention and I'm looking at which one to get

Either an x300 or a tlr1

I was thinking safariland.

Know which model for an RMR and an x300

Yeah this is the holster I've been looking at

Optics planet has them for much cheaper though

kind of hit or miss for availability but I'm thinking I'll try that

perfect. Thanks

Iโ€™ll try to make the gun show

Plate carrier. I run in mine regularly so Iโ€™m fairly fast in it. Makes me feel safer.

I only have one triple mag pouch on my front. The rest is on the cummerbund or the belt

I also have a hydration source on my back but thatโ€™s only another inch out.

Couple pieces of advice. 1# aero precision in that price range with really good quality stuff. 2# donโ€™t worry about โ€œcollection.โ€ Buy one good rifle with a good optic and a good light and a good sling. Then buy ammo. When you turn 21, do the same for a duty weapon and or/edc weapon. I could have saved money and had way nicer guns now if someone told me that advice when I was your age.

I used to own like 8 or 10 guns, but they were all niche things. I sold them all, bought a concealed carry weapon, a glock 17, and an aero ar-15. Wish I had done that to start. Donโ€™t be like me and be young and dumb

Yeah, thatโ€™s a high tier setup for about what, 1900 ish after everything? Mind you, thatโ€™s not all at once either.

Oh thereโ€™s a big difference. From a practicality standpoint, thereโ€™s not as much need for an ar 10 setup unless youโ€™re engaging very distant targets. Itโ€™s too much for home defense because the 308 has a much higher chance of going through multiple walls, especially compared to 55 gr 556. Mags are more rare and expensive, hold less ammo, and are heavier than their smaller counterpart, which can be said about the ammo as well. Heavier, more expensive, not as common as 556. Parts are not always compatible, and itโ€™s more of a specialty weapon, rather than one weapon which can do many jobs very well.

Buy a nice ar 15 as your first rifle. I implore you. Donโ€™t be like 18 year old me๐Ÿ˜‚

That sounds great

Iโ€™d join via discord
