Hi dudes
generally speaking how long does it take to be accepted as a Xenos?
ahh kk
๐ฟ
@LimaGolf strikes me as a bit of a logical leap to assume anybody with a foreign sounding name is a product of neoliberalism, and by the very nature of it being an *opinion* of course its bound to be biased
Also: just because somebody is brown doesn't mean their argument is wrong lol
not even saying i agree with their argument moreover am I pointing out that your rebuttal is pretty bad
@IAmAlwaysWatching Yeah, maybe, but is that something we should aspire to? Prejudice? Or is that something we can and should and do recognise as a serious flaw? You absolutely should be upset when somebody judges you unfairly based on nothing except for your name. Are you insane?
sorry, just saw his comment now
i've not been looking at the server bc of other stuff lol
That doesn't make any sense lmao
Well, rather, it doesn't make sense unless you think prejudice is a good thing
which strikes me as reprehensible
But, please, tell me otherwise
That doesn't make any sense lmao
huh connection problem. wasn't supposed to send twice
that doesn't even remotely resemble my argument
there's a big difference between having to earn somebody's respect as an individual based on your own good works and being prematurely castigated as an 'undesirable' based on an uncontrollable trait
No, you just strongly suggested as much given how, in your haste, you attempted to justify it as 'natural'
what's your opinion on prejudice then?
...?
you're going to have to restate that
you're presupposing somebody is even able to get to that point, once judged to be an undesirable
which is kind of the point of prejudice-- somebody is not worthy of having your respect because they are xyz
not worthy of the investment of time and effort to get to know them as an individual
Well, that presupposes that ghettos exist solely because of prejudice and that these people wouldn't just be exceptions that prove the rule
quite possibly, I think I might've assumed things that aren't true about your beliefs @IAmAlwaysWatching
and if that's so i'm sorry
Oh I agree
Totally
I'd just sooner have there be no unnecessary prejudice against somebody based on, say, skin colour. If somebody has an initial low estimation of you I'd sooner it be over things that are indicative of your individual character i.e. your manner of dress, if you're well groomed, etc. All still a little superficial but you know
heh
nowhere else to put them i guess
for some people here
you can like
not be so snarky lmao
what I *meant* was that you were equating-- falsely-- immigration with neoliberalism. Clearly, there was immigration before neoliberalism. Does neoliberalism facilitate *mass* immigration? Yeah, it can of course. But then again, there were also muslims and sikhs living as a small minority in Victorian Britain. What I'm trying to say is laying the immigration of any "suspected foreigner" and their subsequent existence as a British citizen/resident of the UK on the feet of neoliberalism strikes me as wrong. Indeed, it strikes me as vaguely prejudiced
I'd also like to point out that you don't know the first thing of what I believe, or that I disagree that the British identity lacks a historical context. Of course it has one.
Honestly I think my main conceit is that while I'm on "your side", or Sargon's "side" it seems like there's also a lot of really fucking lazy arguments for this side that need to be reevaluated. Its like half of us lost the plot on what *we* believe in our haste to react to what the other side says.
And I don't mean to sound gatekeeper-y there. its hardly my place to be arbiter of good and bad arguments but its certainly my right to point out potential problems i guess
alright man, take care
heyyy
i got my xeno-ship (?)
Wow This Nigga Based And Redpilled NGL (Not Gonna Lie) ๐ฌ
fr
Well
I'm certainly sure there are people who genuinely *hate* trans and gay people, but yeah on the whole its mostly people who are uncomfortable with the idea but are happy to let these people exist
Which I mean, is fine. That's the definition of tolerance lol
Which has been sidelined in recent times with "acceptance", which I actually take issue with. I think the idea of tolerating the presence of others and retaining the right to hold your own views is very different from being asked to "accept" something, which is to say to change your thinking. Acceptance should be your personal choice to make, not something mandated by others.
Tolerance is the basis of a cosmopolitan and diverse society; acceptance as i see it is the basis of a different form of homogeneity
yeah exactly
jesus
wait the left wants to ban vapes?
or am i completely misunderstanding lol
jesus murphy
six people die and everybody panics
its like
yes
this is a tragedy that ought to be investigated but not something to lose our shit over lol
i thought it was the left that wanted to hand out crack rocks anyway wtf
LMAO
i got a huge goddamn fucking brain
damn
private arms bans are literally a hallmark of every tyrannical regime there ever was
jesus christ, i'd sooner put up with the possibility of increased violent crime rates and retain my freedom to defend myself than to live under a benevolent dictator
putting aside the fact that the way O'Rourke's manner of speech is like that of a lord to his serf, not a representative to a fellow citizen. asshole shouldn't play victim
iirc one of the first decrees made by the Qin Empire in China was to seize privately-owned weapons-- that and burn 'dangerous' books and murder scholars.
so Beto is one for three.
not a good look
where were you banned from?
out of the loop, sorry
ahh
@UnScottable I'm sure its been the aspiration of some democrats all along. I don't think there's much of a conspiracy involved so much as a gradual shift in views overall as more and more legislation is passed, and this kind of thinking is more and more accepted by an unconscious consensus.
effectively a similar conclusion, but you know
I don't see any evidence for that.
I can see tragedies being used for political gain. I think the vast majority of "false flags" are BS.
well, why las vegas in particular then
tf goin on
damn
you're asserting all this but i dunno where you're getting this from
I think that that's all a bit elaborate for a master plan
glow in the dark
cia nibbers
(im afraid to say the real word the rcmp might arrest me and drown me in shit in secret)
huh,
i dunno man
i just wanna grill
unironically though you might be right about all this but even so its over my head.
personally i'd sooner just try to live a quiet life and affect change where i can
maybe. ultimately history is an evolutionary process i think. institutions decay over time, and are replaced by new ones. the revolution at the end-- if there is one-- is just the most visible tail-end of a long process. I like to think history ultimately vindicates the right side even if it takes a long time. so I guess we'll just have to see.
and that's all a lot of vague waffling on my part, but you know
of course its portland
๐
I don't think minor phenotypical differences like that are comparible to mutations in fundamental human cognition.
ultimately i think the article gets it partly right; I think race is fairly arbitrary too after all.
Well, I think its *very* arbitrary. Conceptions of "race" changed all the time throughout time; it was more sociocultural than anything else.
me?
