2017-02-03 16:18:38 UTC

@MRB MY GUESS IS IT WAS NOT A PHILOSOPHICAL MOVEMENT

2017-02-03 16:18:52 UTC

RATHER, THE SUCCESS OF SOCIETY PLUS CONTACT WITH OUTSIDERS

2017-02-03 16:19:11 UTC

THESE LED TO PEASANT REVOLTS

2017-02-03 16:19:20 UTC

AND EVENTUALLY, THE ENLIGHTENMENT(TM)

2017-02-03 16:20:04 UTC

Makes sense

2017-02-03 16:20:25 UTC

ALL SOCIETIES SEEM TO DIE

2017-02-03 16:20:28 UTC

THE KEY TO ME WAS THE MAYA

2017-02-03 16:20:32 UTC

THEY DIED THE SAME WAY THE ROMANS DID

2017-02-03 16:20:37 UTC

WITH ZERO JEWS OR CHRISTIANS PRESENT

2017-02-03 16:20:42 UTC

THIS MEANS

2017-02-03 16:20:47 UTC

IT IS SOMETHING INHERENT TO CIVILIZATION

2017-02-03 16:20:50 UTC

AN OXIDATIVE PROCESS

2017-02-03 16:23:04 UTC

Romans were Christians when they died.

2017-02-03 16:30:34 UTC

CAUSE OR EFFECT

2017-02-03 16:30:35 UTC

?

2017-02-03 16:36:04 UTC

Tough question

2017-02-03 16:41:57 UTC

I WOULD ARGUE "EFFECT"

2017-02-03 16:42:01 UTC

ROME WAS IN DECLINE FOR SOME TIME

2017-02-03 16:42:07 UTC

IT NEVER QUITE GOT OVER ITS FRACTURED ORIGIN

2017-02-03 16:42:09 UTC

AND ALSO

2017-02-03 16:42:12 UTC

IT WAS AWASH IN SUCCESS

2017-02-03 16:43:51 UTC

I'm still debating. Your points are valid.

2017-02-03 16:51:26 UTC

Good morning hello!

2017-02-03 16:52:01 UTC

Good morning!

2017-02-03 16:53:19 UTC

@diversity_is_racism "Effect" as well, although Rome would have fallen with or without Constantine's acceptance/mainstreaming. However, the economic model of conquest was also baked in the same cake.

2017-02-03 17:14:38 UTC

@diversity_is_racism I installed BRAVE

2017-02-03 17:34:19 UTC

@Maarat how many did you take? Perhaps you are very sensitive to acetominophen. Did you hallucinate spiders all morning?
@diversity_is_racism One of my favorite history teachers often said that in the colonial days, European powers viewed all resources as being linear. I don't know if that is true given agriculture and everything but, he said they were especially desperate because once the resources were gone, they were gone for good. Forever and ever. With mining this makes sense but, how much of their proposed resources were metals?

2017-02-03 17:34:51 UTC

@diversity_is_racism Should we be like ExCathedra and start thinking about a new religion for a new Epoch?

2017-02-03 17:37:41 UTC

good evening from finland

2017-02-03 17:38:43 UTC

Good evening. How late is it there?

2017-02-03 17:38:49 UTC

@Metalheim Good evening.

2017-02-03 17:57:09 UTC

@-A The resources of conquest - specifically metals and wood were (maybe are) linear

2017-02-03 17:57:12 UTC

constantine did not cause rome to fall

2017-02-03 17:57:16 UTC

jeebus made rome stronger

2017-02-03 17:57:34 UTC

as it gave them unity

2017-02-03 17:57:44 UTC

and made a new religion around the emperor

2017-02-03 17:58:07 UTC

while adopting the common mystery religion and neo-platonic thought

2017-02-03 17:58:27 UTC

making jesus take the plce of all the gods

2017-02-03 17:58:30 UTC

made perfect sense

2017-02-03 17:58:39 UTC

one god, one son, one emperor

2017-02-03 17:58:49 UTC

one logos, one orthodoxy

2017-02-03 18:03:29 UTC

@MRB but trees can grow back.

2017-02-03 18:04:13 UTC

@-A Not as fast as they were being used for infrastructure, war, etc.

2017-02-03 18:04:45 UTC

Specifically what was required for ship keels at the time.

2017-02-03 18:05:09 UTC

@MRB I see. That did make things quite desperate then. Especially what with those Crusades and such.

2017-02-03 18:05:32 UTC

@Maarat Not to mention that whole "perfect man" biz.

2017-02-03 18:06:26 UTC

hi all. i've been a fan of brett steven's work for nearly 10 years now. met some great people along the way and very happy to see more socializing going on everywhere. looking forward to chatting now and then. cheers.

2017-02-03 18:06:54 UTC

Cheers.

2017-02-03 18:08:45 UTC

AAAAAAAnd radio silence once a bright eyed and bushy tailed enthused fellow comes along. Gotta love the morale.

2017-02-03 18:09:08 UTC

lol

2017-02-03 18:09:41 UTC

So, gentleman, plans to take over the world?

2017-02-03 18:10:11 UTC

Every day. Then I hit the morning commute and say fuck it.

2017-02-03 18:11:32 UTC

That is some cynical realism right there. Perhaps we can locate the weak links in Occidental security, gather disaffected Euros and make appointments with the Aristocrats left standing? I am pretty mellowed out but, I still got a lot of rage in me.

2017-02-03 18:11:52 UTC

Pass the matches.

2017-02-03 18:13:31 UTC

We can lure the yoofs with some good old datura spiked alcohol and granny strippers parading them to cages on ships headed for Africa. They can thank us for the drinks and free rides in the form of reduced costs on wholesale coffee and chocolate.

2017-02-03 18:15:10 UTC

I'm really waiting to see what/how ANTIFA gets spun for their latest antics. Call me an optimist here, but I think there's a lot to work with.

2017-02-03 18:15:35 UTC

They just need the corpse of Mao hung around their necks

2017-02-03 18:15:51 UTC

Expose them for the communists they actually are.

2017-02-03 18:16:12 UTC

Let the normies sort them out while we sort the normies

2017-02-03 18:17:12 UTC

hey mao was doing it for political power

2017-02-03 18:17:15 UTC

most antifa are just losers

2017-02-03 18:17:31 UTC

If we do the outing, we will be the heroes. It is kind of like when you leave a cat stuck in your room with the AC off all day on accident and your dumbass cousin tries to "console" her through the crack of the door. That cat won't care if YOU locked her in, just that YOU let her out.

2017-02-03 18:18:02 UTC

who don't get that mao was ful of shit

2017-02-03 18:18:23 UTC

brimming

2017-02-03 18:18:42 UTC

all commies were bourgeois and nobles.

2017-02-03 18:18:54 UTC

except maybe Stalin

2017-02-03 18:19:53 UTC

the left has seen too many movies. there will be no violent revolution. trump is still getting set up. sessions isn't even in yet. i have faith he'll straighten things out and it will happen very quickly and easily. subconsciously they all need a spanking. we're gonna see things change very quickly i think.

2017-02-03 18:20:38 UTC

It's the start of the healing process now that the band-aid is on.

2017-02-03 18:21:35 UTC

@-A Healing process? Who needs healing?

2017-02-03 18:21:38 UTC

by too many movies i mean they actually think they can take down evil governments by popular resistance. they're going through the same 60s script. well...they lost that battle physically too but won the culture war. now the culture is swinging back. they have no physical chance. they are not the reds of a century ago.

2017-02-03 18:22:08 UTC

trump is the new reagan and thatcher

2017-02-03 18:22:12 UTC

ready to end the leftist fun

2017-02-03 18:22:26 UTC

@MRB The West needs healing. Trump is a good sign that will make a feedback loop of increasing rightism unless it is squandered and the people go back to sleep.

2017-02-03 18:27:08 UTC

There's a part of my thinking, and I know this is a bit biased, that leftist thinking/belief needs to be coddled, developed and learned. Non-leftist (conservatism for example) is more a natural state. That being said, ending the left gives us what's natural.

2017-02-03 18:27:28 UTC

Then again I am more tribal/anarchist than most. lol

2017-02-03 18:28:24 UTC

@MRB I am pretty sure that at least most of the people here would agree with you. Do you read Brett's work on Amerika.org? That is the kind of thing he would say.

2017-02-03 18:28:45 UTC

Been reading it for years ๐Ÿ˜‹

2017-02-03 18:29:06 UTC

Bias confirmed!!๐Ÿ˜

2017-02-03 18:30:51 UTC

I sort of split it in masculine/feminine though. Provider/provided for. Conqueror/conquered even

2017-02-03 18:31:18 UTC

...and I definitely see the left as feminine.

2017-02-03 18:31:43 UTC

Yes. As the saying goes, they are like shit-testing women. Especially the women.

2017-02-03 18:31:54 UTC

LOL yup

2017-02-03 18:32:16 UTC

Or as I say: only faggots and women vote democrat

2017-02-03 18:32:32 UTC

That is the unabashed truth and one that needs a slogan.

2017-02-03 18:32:51 UTC

I can see the high schoolers now: "I'm not gay...GO TRUMP!!"

2017-02-03 18:34:37 UTC

@MRB How do you feel about the Organic Hierarchy and Monarchy/Aristocracy values that Brett believes in. I am partial to it myself but many of his readers think that it is outmoded terminology and means to OH and even that it is just plain undoable.

2017-02-03 18:37:02 UTC

I agree with it to a certain extent. I think in many ways, though, we have that now to some extent too. The notion of "freedom" gets in the way of seeing that fully realized though. The terminology is irrelevant to me - I get the meaning more than the means.

2017-02-03 18:37:49 UTC

Yep. What is important is that the best lead and we all do our part based on our own skills and natures.

2017-02-03 18:39:33 UTC

The inherent problem (and I acknowledge I haven't fleshed the notion fully yet) is there is the problem of "who decides". Perhaps there is a free market sort of volunteerism that would get us there. Not sure how to get from current state to desired.

2017-02-03 18:40:38 UTC

The "who decides" question is the same problem, in part, with egalitarianism.

2017-02-03 18:41:30 UTC

I do, though, think we should be allowed to fully self segregate as a natural right of sorts.

2017-02-03 18:42:36 UTC

I think that problem would solve itself as natural leaders take their newfound opportunities to lead their locales and their groups of peers. Eventually, the upper echelons of the nation would flesh out among these leaders and hence: Organic Hierarchy.

2017-02-03 18:42:51 UTC

Agreed

2017-02-03 18:44:35 UTC

And that's why I mentioned it's somewhat like we have now. We aren't happy with that though. Unfortunately we can't opt out - and for that matter never willfully entered in to the agreement as it was made at birth.

2017-02-03 18:45:33 UTC

I also see the problem as the most skilled at selling empty promises and parasitism have risen using our "competitive" system.

2017-02-03 18:45:51 UTC

They have moved in to fill the vacuum of our proper elite.

2017-02-03 18:46:17 UTC

Then they used their popularity as external validation of their status.

2017-02-03 18:47:11 UTC

"Then they used their popularity as external validation of their status." or their skill motivated/manipulated folks to see it that way.

2017-02-03 18:48:12 UTC

The problem we have now, and back to something Brett says: lack of consequentialism. The results dont matter. Feeling good does to too many.

2017-02-03 18:49:32 UTC

That goes back to my comment on opting out/volunteerism. We shouldn't have to replace the elites - we should be able to select them by what we follow.
