2017-05-25 01:00:55 UTC

my personal opinion is a gigantic well researched no

2017-05-25 01:01:07 UTC

But you can understand, 'it's just too complex' is almost verging on luddite tier rebuttal.

2017-05-25 01:01:23 UTC

which is my eternal disappointment with the determination

2017-05-25 01:01:37 UTC

i hate that i learned all i did and came away with 'we have no idea'

2017-05-25 01:02:08 UTC

Are you saying genetic research has a low ceiling?

2017-05-25 01:03:02 UTC

@Blebleh Please stop spamming. The grown ups are talking.

2017-05-25 01:04:19 UTC

Genetic research is a literal meme.

2017-05-25 01:04:36 UTC

You can create a few homunculi, but that's probably about half of what you'll end up with

2017-05-25 01:04:55 UTC

the real manipulation is in proteins, that's the closest control surface we ought to touch

2017-05-25 01:05:12 UTC

simple because genes are not _read only_

2017-05-25 01:05:46 UTC

You're getting in the game of muh human nature for capitalism

2017-05-25 01:05:55 UTC

ive _BEEN_ in it

2017-05-25 01:06:01 UTC

when primitive communism and socialism itself worked

2017-05-25 01:06:02 UTC

manipulating human nature for fun and profit

2017-05-25 01:06:04 UTC

thats how i know this shit

2017-05-25 01:06:34 UTC

whatever you did it doesn't matter, it works

2017-05-25 01:06:34 UTC

@OF-8 That's fantastic but stating your credentials over and over is just wasting space.

2017-05-25 01:07:03 UTC

true

2017-05-25 01:07:05 UTC

given

2017-05-25 01:07:15 UTC

i dont have a marxist badge so i feel unfrockd

2017-05-25 01:07:18 UTC

its fine

2017-05-25 01:10:32 UTC

Let's start with really basic practices, like screening unborn cattle for disease, and selective breeding for traits in livestock. Next, genetically modified foods, another common practice. Next, animal cloning and IVF, not really high success rate but successes are successes. Are these things not what you would call progress in genetic research?

2017-05-25 01:11:26 UTC

Not with regard to the need for humans to trade objects of value, fuck no.

2017-05-25 01:12:48 UTC

OK, there are two parts here. Modifying humans over time with education and breeding, and outright changing the genome.

2017-05-25 01:13:18 UTC

In the later, what are the main problems with genetic research which prevents experimentation with editting?

2017-05-25 01:13:27 UTC

we can try all that uncertain shit, or flood the place with kebab cattle.

2017-05-25 01:13:54 UTC

there's lots of experimentation, but the problem comes when the genes are passed to subsequent generations _if_ they make it that far.

2017-05-25 01:14:11 UTC

the second generation of a GMO human has retarded high cancer rates

2017-05-25 01:15:18 UTC

It seems like you are saying, 'it's just too hard don't even try'. But why not try? Why is it impossible to progress?

2017-05-25 01:15:41 UTC

its not that it's too hard, but that we'll wreck the bloodlines of those that tru

2017-05-25 01:15:53 UTC

So?

2017-05-25 01:16:09 UTC

this will progress through a second pass at proteomics and some of thsoe things created legit super soldiers

2017-05-25 01:17:09 UTC

it's foolish to try now, as a matter of personal caution, but if you care nothing for the divinity of man, then go right ahead

2017-05-25 01:17:41 UTC

So humans can be changed, with selective breeding, or radical experimentation. Why is man sacred?

2017-05-25 01:18:09 UTC

That's a philosophical question that marx will talk you out of as I answer it.

2017-05-25 01:18:14 UTC

Seek elsewhere for that question.

2017-05-25 01:18:36 UTC

I am not a dogmatist. Try me.

2017-05-25 01:19:46 UTC

Really you are saying man's urge is sacred.

2017-05-25 01:19:57 UTC

Not that it cannot be changed.

2017-05-25 01:19:57 UTC

^ this. Yes

2017-05-25 01:21:04 UTC

In the purely phenomenological sense, the nature or urge of man is a compulsion from an unknowably complex and long running process.

2017-05-25 01:21:35 UTC

Yes we, through this divine urge, change the nature of man, but in doing so we break the link with divinity.

2017-05-25 01:22:13 UTC

It is my opinion that this divinity is a wiser entity than you.

2017-05-25 01:22:35 UTC

Or I. Or we.

2017-05-25 01:22:39 UTC

Or the worker.

2017-05-25 01:25:40 UTC

This is a regressive perspective. It doesn't matter if the process is better than anything we can imagine. What matters is that this may not be true forever. Why shouldn't we start now on our path for future mastery? Why are you motived to hamstring yourself, when you do not know all possible outcomes? This is anti-intellectual and Luddite tier.

2017-05-25 01:26:57 UTC

How is it even possible to recognise that an origin (if that is even possible) is Absolutely perfect and thus its process today still is?

2017-05-25 01:27:02 UTC

Hardly. My disconnection from the divine wisdom of Marx is that I feel he is wrong in his analysis of the divine urge.

2017-05-25 01:27:20 UTC

It is in das kapital that he fucks this up

2017-05-25 01:27:36 UTC

"I feel", "My opinion"

2017-05-25 01:27:41 UTC

I don't even need to cite chapter and verse, because it's all rubbish.

2017-05-25 01:27:50 UTC

Stop changing the goal posts.

2017-05-25 01:27:55 UTC

Lmfao

2017-05-25 01:28:01 UTC

I learned that from map

2017-05-25 01:28:05 UTC

Mao

2017-05-25 01:28:17 UTC

Well the mao2 model drones

2017-05-25 01:29:05 UTC

My point is, from my perspective the socialist direction is a misdirection of otherwise intelligent people into a form of slave religion.

2017-05-25 01:29:26 UTC

1) Prove there is an Absolute origin
2) Prove that this origin is perfect
3) Prove that the process from the origin is perfect
4) Prove that mankind can never reach this level of perfection

2017-05-25 01:29:38 UTC

>materialists

2017-05-25 01:29:46 UTC

๐Ÿš

2017-05-25 01:29:52 UTC

Not an argument.

2017-05-25 01:30:07 UTC

You demand proofs of the ethereal

2017-05-25 01:30:20 UTC

What is 'ethereal'?

2017-05-25 01:30:34 UTC

What else is there to do but provide fifteen seconds of socialist perfection

2017-05-25 01:31:19 UTC

Existence is dependant on proofs, fam.

2017-05-25 01:31:32 UTC

RUSH HEAD FIRST INTO UTOPIA, innit?

2017-05-25 01:31:42 UTC

Got a better idea?

2017-05-25 01:31:42 UTC

I don't buy that thesis at all.

2017-05-25 01:32:14 UTC

Yes. Several. First of all stop wasting good intellect on a philosophical garbage can

2017-05-25 01:32:30 UTC

Secondly, stop moaning about the system and use it wisely.

2017-05-25 01:32:50 UTC

Thirdly, gain enough power and experience to effect real and wise change.

2017-05-25 01:33:40 UTC

Do you always reassure yourself with such vagueness?

2017-05-25 01:33:55 UTC

Tell me your idea.

2017-05-25 01:34:04 UTC

That's the path.

2017-05-25 01:34:19 UTC

The ideas ought to manifest from your divine urge.

2017-05-25 01:34:29 UTC

Ignore that at your peril.

2017-05-25 01:35:30 UTC

I will do that, once I know what is so special about divine urge.

2017-05-25 01:35:46 UTC

Upanishads tbh fam

2017-05-25 01:35:52 UTC

You are just worshipping the status quo.

2017-05-25 01:35:55 UTC

What about them?

2017-05-25 01:36:20 UTC

The answer to your question is the thesis of them

2017-05-25 01:36:34 UTC

Gnostic texts also cover this

2017-05-25 01:36:56 UTC

Egyptian story of Horus is basically this

2017-05-25 01:37:01 UTC

Brahman?

2017-05-25 01:37:16 UTC

You can get it kinda from Brahman

2017-05-25 01:37:33 UTC

Are you a Gnostic?

2017-05-25 01:38:18 UTC

Or just another edgy syncretic chaos wizard?

2017-05-25 01:38:46 UTC

Tell me something concrete.

2017-05-25 01:39:20 UTC

We are wandering into obscurity here.

2017-05-25 01:44:59 UTC

In reference to divine urge you referenced ancient concepts of the Absolute. That's perfectly fine. But they do not address the urge part, specifically as you argued from evolution and the preserving of the 'natural' genome. I would ask the Gnostic, why be a Gnostic? He will answer: "it is in our nature". That's called circular reasoning. Why shouldn't we change it? There is an idealistic assumption that the way things are are the perfect and highest reality. Why? Well, "it just is, we have to believe it". No, we don't.

2017-05-25 01:46:20 UTC

"But otherwise you will go to Hell, serve the demiurge, fall into samsara, etc etc" This is where I walk away. Complete sophistry.

2017-05-25 01:47:21 UTC

Nah I'm a guy with a chatty wife. ๐Ÿ’

2017-05-25 01:48:07 UTC

Are you taking it literally and not seriously?

2017-05-25 01:50:44 UTC

My urges are telling me you are full of shit.

2017-05-25 01:51:06 UTC

Follow them. That's the first step. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

2017-05-25 01:52:00 UTC

I follow reason.

2017-05-25 01:53:39 UTC

At your peril, fellow divine being.

2017-05-25 01:54:13 UTC

"Do as I say or you will go to Hell". Thanks Father for that sage advice.
