A judge overseeing a misdemeanor stalking charge involving former neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman has warned attorneys not to attempt to retry a previous murder case that ended with his acquittal.
The judge on Wednesday told attorneys at Zimmerman's pretrial hearing not to "open old wounds."

Zimmerman is accused of sending threatening messages to a private investigator who had contacted him about a documentary series on Trayvon Martin. Martin is the black teen Zimmerman fatally shot in 2012. Zimmerman was acquitted of criminal charges. The documentary is being produced by rapper Jay Z.
A sheriff's report says private investigator Dennis Warren received numerous calls and texts from Zimmerman in December.
The judge granted a request from Zimmerman's attorney to allow the investigator to be deposed.
Zimmerman didn't attend Wednesday's hearing.

LAKE WORTH, Fla. (CBS12) โ A security alert at Palm Beach State College in Lake Worth turned out to be tied to training exercises, according to a spokesperson for the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.
Joy Edelstein, a spokesperson for the college, says they're are looking into whether there was a breakdown in communication.
The campus issued an alert Thursday afternoon, asking people to avoid the Education and Training center (ETA).
The campus announced the security alert on Twitter.
A student at the school told CBS12 he received a text alert which said the school is on lockdown due to a report of an armed individual and that people should avoid the ETA building.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office said crews were training at that campus earlier in the day.
About 15 minutes later, the college lifted the alert and asked people to resume normal activities.

Five dead after newsroom shooting in the US
Five people are dead after a shooting at a newspaper office in Maryland, officials have confirmed.
Police said officers were on the scene within 60 seconds of the shooting being reported at 2.40pm at The Capital Gazette building in Annapolis.
The shooter has been arrested and is being interviewed by police officers, authorities said.
No motive has been disclosed but a law enforcement official said the shooting was being treated as a local incident, rather than terrorism.
The Gazette's crime reporter Phil Davis wrote on Twitter that the gunman had "shot through the glass door to the office and opened fire on multiple employees".
"Can't say much more and don't want to declare anyone dead, but it's bad."
He said that the single shooter had shot "multiple people at my office, some of whom are dead".
"There is nothing more terrifying than hearing multiple people get shot while you're under your desk and then hear the gunman reload."
Mr Davis said he was tweeting after leaving the office and while waiting to be interviewed by police.
Anne Arundel Police Department's acting chief William Krampf said: "It's going to be quite a while determining occurred, why it occurred and how it occurred.
"We do have fatalities and we do have serious injuries.
"We also have many, many witnesses being interviewed."
Police did not confirm the number of people killed but Baltimore Metro News says that emergency services are reporting four fatalities.
Maryland Governor Larry Hogan said he was "absolutely devastated to learn of this tragedy in Annapolis".
Congressman John Sarbanes, who covers the area, told Sky News that the newspaper had been part of the community for "decades and decades".
"They really feel the pulse of this community and now the community is going to feel the ripple effect from the newspaper itself."
US president Donald Trump tweeted, offering "thoughts and prayers (for the) victims and their families".
