LAKE WORTH, Fla. (CBS12) — A security alert at Palm Beach State College in Lake Worth turned out to be tied to training exercises, according to a spokesperson for the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.

Joy Edelstein, a spokesperson for the college, says they're are looking into whether there was a breakdown in communication.
The campus issued an alert Thursday afternoon, asking people to avoid the Education and Training center (ETA).
The campus announced the security alert on Twitter.

A student at the school told CBS12 he received a text alert which said the school is on lockdown due to a report of an armed individual and that people should avoid the ETA building.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office said crews were training at that campus earlier in the day.
About 15 minutes later, the college lifted the alert and asked people to resume normal activities.
