The Christian Church fucked itself
not true
<@&516817984782729217> Daily Question <:PraiseGod:484196233020440586>
- Are science and religion compatible?
No.
No
Science is literally atheism.
Yes
No.
It's a yes from me
nO.
Fuck you.
Most of the scientific discoveries were made by Christians
So?
Galelio for example
The Christian religion says that Earth is fucking flat.
Science is a tool to explore and understand God's infinite creation
Not a barrier to religion
@Koninos wrong
Correct.
Don't make me bring my bible.
The early Christian Church accepted Earth was round ages ago
Tye debate was wether or not Earth was the center of the solar system
Though the authentic texts say it's flat.
No
Yes.
The people believed it is flat, and thus the old texts say it's flat.
inb4 4 Corners verse, that's been refuted by every major Christian body
No matter what the Christian believes. Christianity is a very old religion. Back in the ages Christianity was made, people believed the Earth is flat. And so did the first Christians.
No Christian said that the Earth is round, back then.
It's understandable, and I'm not critisizing the Christians for this, but let's be honest here.
Also the majority of scientists are atheists.
There are many things that science have proved wrong, mentioned in the Christian bible.
Adam and Eva for example.
Science may not have proved it entirely, but the Darwin Theory is more acceptable - from the majority of the people, at least.
Furthermore, the reason the human race did not develop at *all*, in the Middle Ages, was because of the religions. They all thought that everything was made by god - thus, why would they mind to explore the world?
However, when the Renaissance arrived, and the enlighters, who were either Deists or atheists, lighted up our world.
Without them, we'd be stuck in the "God made everything" theory that Christianity presented, and would never have developed since then.
```
Science is a tool to explore and understand God's infinite creation
```
This is terribly wrong in my opinion, hence science has proved wrong many things that are mentioned in the Christian bible.
Science can explain a lot, but not everything.
Thus, Science is not capable of answering the "Is there a God?" question.
Though Christianity is rapidly losing its population, just because of science.
So does every other religion.
From Islam to Buddhism.
From Hinduism to other traditional religions.
So Science is not compatible with Religions.
No.
Except from Deism - Deism says that there *is* a god, who created our universe, though he doesn't interact with us, nor has he created us; the universe itself, developed, and create us.
Deism is compatible with Science.
Though the rest of the religions are not, in my opinion.
Science and religion are compatible
God is truth
God is absolute truth
Okay, this is epic
Science seeks to find that truth although *modern scientists* want to ignore the truth which is God
Which is why homosex are okay and literally gender is a social construct
Ebic:DDDD
I feel as if I just restated someoneโs point
You did, but wrongly.
Science's purpose is to discover how did the universe begin.
???
Though not only modern, but some ancient scientists questioned and question the existance of god.
Christianity is compatible with religion
oof
Christianity is a religipn.
i meant christianity is compatible with science
Christianity, yes.
Partially.
Islam is not
Other religions aren't.
Exactly.
Judaism is compatible
Cuz judaism is literally just the christian old testament
Thus, religions as a whole, aren't necessarily compatible with science.
Science and religion is compatible
@el pebble Not with every religion
^
Its incompatible with islam
^
Terribly true.
Incompatible with Hinduism and jainism
incompatible with shintoism
Satanism.
Other traditional religions too.
cuz they believe that the universe was made by a god jizzing onto space
^
and that jizz made space pregnant
so yh
Despite last thursdayism there is still something called the omphalos hypothesis that tries to integrate science with creationism
last thursdayism is hte only religion that is 100% compatible with science
But the majority of theological components can exist with science because they don't address each other
ok
Now
Name a part of Christianity that is against science
and i will prove how it is compatible
You misunderstand
I support compatibility
The existence of God (Not compatible with *modern* scientific beliefs.).
Not true
True.
If you believe the christian god is incompatible with modern science
The vast majority of the modern scientists believe that the existence of god isn't true.
then you are not looking at the christian god
Paranormal powers too.
Also the majority of modern scientists whom this field of science is their specific field of study
Are agnostic
Eg they arent sure
But
The christian god lives outside space time and matter
All 3 are specific things
You cant have space
Without time or matter
Because when would you put it
and what would you put in it
You cant have time alone
God is inversely proven through philosophy due to empiricism
for obvious reasons
The christian god is omnipotent and omniscient
The vast majority of scientists aren't steadfast on God because he is not a scientific being
Science is of him
yes
Science is incompatible with religionโs distinctive method of knowing. Science is also incompatible with many of religionโs distinctive conclusions. Leaving goings-on in some supernatural realm aside, many religions claim to have knowledge of entities and events showing up in our world which ought to occasionally be experimentally confirmable by scientific method. Consider religious claims about divine creation of humans, miracles, faith healing, angelic visitations, demonic forces, etc. When scientifically investigated, science concludes that these claims lack merit, about as impressive as horoscopes, Big Foot, and ESP. Sophisticated theology quickly covers for religion by ad-hoc hypothesizing how science must be blind to these matters (hence we get transubstantiation, ectoplasm, Godโs gene-tweaking, etc.) Very liberal religion wisely refrains from claims about matters that ought to be scientifically detectable and confirmable (thatโs the privilege of broad accommodation). But when a religion continues to make anti-scientific claims, do not be surprised when science declares its incompatibility.
Copy pasting didn't work last time you tried it koninos
Who are you again?
hes an elder
thats who
Wow.
anyway
I gtg. Let's continue later.
K
lol
Free will not real
Why would science and religion conflict when the only scientific ideas to be incompatible with religion are simply theories?
ha lol
Why not accept that religion requires the suspension of disbelief? Religious men and women lead better lives than atheists.
Tis true^
yes
not every religion centers around a great god creating the earth and divine things along that nature
Though all the reasonable ones believe in some type of divine creation.
not the pagans for what I know
Iโm pretty sure polytheism has nothing to do with divine creation
But in those didnโt the gods or the head god create humans?
@๏ผฉ๏ผถ ๏ผฌ๏ผฉ ๏ผถ ๏ผณ how do you know
Muslim demolishing a statue of Jesus in Italy
@edickens It does, ive read enough mythology to confirm that often times polytheism ironically enough defines the world as coming to be from an original creator. Then that craetor created basically the elements that had their own will and were the gods, and these essentially divine beings created man.
Often times polytheism will have a dust, or clay myth. Alternatively it will have a made from body parts of a divine being myth (explaining social classes along the way)
@ัะฟะธััะฝ we dont keep statues of glorious Prophets and Messengers
especially the Messiah
that will be caliph
in the future
*In Italy*
@Lola Personal experience and observation. Please don't take my word for it, just pay attention to the existential crises that only befall atheists.
@๏ผฉ๏ผถ ๏ผฌ๏ผฉ ๏ผถ ๏ผณ ah I see
But don't people with a religion have a lot of things they're worrying about too?
they're NOT italians @Muhammad Al-Tajir
they are invaders in a host country
so they're not ur statues to destroy
Sure they do. I just find that religious woes are much easier to deal with than atheistic ones.
Yeah
I think it depends on how big of a deal the atheist/theist makes of it
@ัะฟะธััะฝ hah early islam destroyed idols upon invasion of mecca!!!
so will happen for italy
now we are italians
and im.swedish
Okay, this is epic
@Muhammad Al-Tajir how are you a. Senior citizen ๐
lmao idk actually
activity probably

@Religion Daily Question ๐
- Were the crusades Justified? Explain.
Yes
Next
explain debil
perhaps
Yes, Muslims were being the bad fellas bothering our ancestors
They needed to be shown the power of God and also Jerusalem is ours
#takebackconstantinople
Next
Against the Muslims, yes. Against Pagans and such, no.
Yes, mecca must be destroyed
Yes, the Crusades were justified. Muslims had already taken all of the Iberian peninsula by that point. As well as raiding all the way to Tours, France, which is not terribly far from Paris. They had also already taken and established Sicily as an independent Emirate, as well as Bari (on the Italian peninsula). Likewise, they had also raided Rome and many other places in Italy.
@JustMyAlt mecca or kaa'ba?
kaa'ba and mecca will be rebuilt like it always has
Mecca itself
btw btfo romans and sassanids
mecca will be rebuilt
its a ciry
city
I know
cities will be rebuilt
the Kaa'ba was built by pagans
so we must give it back to those who made it, after we clean the world of Islam
it was originally built by Abraham and his firstborn son Ishmael peace be upon him
you dont want pagans back trust me
they would bury infant girls
and have slaves whom they would treat horrible
1) Muhammad had a young girl as a -sex slave- wife
2) why would Abraham leave his home to go in the middle of fuck nowhere to build an ugly rock?
3) Islam is pretty pagan now that i think of it
4) Muhammad treated his black slaves awfully (Muhammad was a white supremacists)
How is Islam pagan?
Islam has pretty paganist views and traditions
That was a pretty vague answer
(googling the stuff I am thinking, sorry my dude. )
All good
first thing that comes to mind is the idol worship of the black stone
Islam is the most anti-pagan religion in existence
Paganism always revolves around the worship of nature, while Islam completely forbids any depiction of the natural world
may I ask your faith my friend?
culturally christian
Ah, no bias then. I don't fully agree with Paganism = nature worship. For you see, did the Africans tribal faiths worshiped the sand?
You're right, middle eastern paganism was very different from paganism in other parts of the world
and Islam did just co-opt most of the existing pagan concepts and idols now that I look at it
I mean, there was a whole pantheon of animal and astrological and humanist gods that Islam did away with, but they maintaned a lot of the old traditions
Yup! that is what i mean, we can disagree if that makes them pagan, but as long as you see where i am coming from.
Yeah, you're totally right
thanks!
Christianity is a disgusting religion
Emphasis on equality diversity and degeneracy
Destroyed the west technologically in the Middle Ages, removed the Roman Empire.
The crusades are a fucking meme
*uh yea letโs just invade Byzantium and destroy the empire keeping the sand niggers from Europe*
gg
Gay
no u
pretty low brow take on Christianity
I would have to say that religions such as Atheism and Islam lead to degeneracy with Christianity being full of culture and traditions which have founded and grown modern western society.
```religions such as atheism```<:facepalm:459545653509357578>
Implying that atheism is not a religious belief
Atheism, yes
atheism, no
gay confederate communist nazi party
