It reduces stress in the short term (according to some blood pressure test), but the suicide rates are still there in the long term. I don't know if they go down after surgery/hrt, but I do know they're still extremely high.

Even if the cause *is* solely because of "discrimination", being 19 times more likely to kill yourself than the general population (I believe the attempt rate is in the 40s for mtfs and ftms is at or right below 50), especially in a country like Sweden of all places, should raise a few flags that these aren't people that are well off mentally from the start. Hell, people with Borderline Personality Disorder only have attempt rates of 10%.

It is demonstrably true that transgender children are far more likely than their "cisgender" peers to be autistic, for an example. This is something that **cannot** be attributed solely to the way their peers treat them. Given that these people are less capable of social interaction and connection than their peers are, and that their higher rates of autism would mean they are less emotionally secure than their peers, it would be highly unlikely this plays nothing short of a major part in the high suicide rates
