2018-05-06 21:44:55 UTC

lol... so apparently Tim was at a "far right" protest today... FAR right... not just right.. but FAR right.. lol https://www.theguardian.com/world/2018/may/06/thousands-of-far-right-protesters-march-in-london-in-support-of-free-speech

2018-05-06 21:45:08 UTC

I guess its what you would expect from the gaurdian

2018-05-06 21:45:33 UTC

I notice they didnt mention the drag act

2018-05-06 21:46:02 UTC

just that "they want to ban religion" apparently... did anyone say that? i don't think anyone did...

2018-05-06 21:46:43 UTC

Free speech has been considered far right for some time now.

2018-05-06 21:47:31 UTC

I think dank said it best - Free speech is not a right wing thing - or a left wing wing - its a human thing

2018-05-06 21:47:36 UTC

was a good speech

2018-05-06 21:48:05 UTC

Exactly.

2018-05-06 22:05:25 UTC

I notice here in the UK its now more expensive for Coke than it is for Diet-Coke ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

2018-05-06 22:06:03 UTC

the excuse is the "sugar tax" ... but it s just an excuse to push the price up

2018-05-06 22:07:09 UTC

the price of sugar in the stores hasnt gone up, theres no extra tax that coke acola have to pay... these companies man...

2018-05-06 22:09:53 UTC

So is it actually sugar or is it HFCS?

2018-05-06 22:10:19 UTC

I think only US coke has HFCS, everywhere, mor most everywhere else is sugar

2018-05-06 22:16:38 UTC

And everywhere else is better off for it.

2018-05-06 22:17:07 UTC

Fuck hfcs

2018-05-06 22:17:42 UTC

Man that sucks.

2018-05-06 22:22:30 UTC

here some coke has stevia (green label), sugar (traditional red label), and hfcs (silver label). So we can choose which cancer we like

2018-05-06 22:24:09 UTC

There is a black label, coke zero, not sure what that one is, but it's another chemical replacement for sugar. Super cancer

2018-05-06 22:24:20 UTC

yeah most of the stuff you guys use in the US is banned over here - I dont know if its bad or not... but Im glad you guys are testing it for us - you are heroes really... hope you dont die, but if you do.. thank you for your sacrifice ๐Ÿ˜›

2018-05-06 22:24:26 UTC

They taste awful and leave a coating in your mouth.

2018-05-06 22:24:39 UTC

Tried it once out of desperation, would not recommend.

2018-05-06 22:25:43 UTC

I've opened a few by mistake and always throw it away after 1 painful sip.

2018-05-06 22:27:37 UTC

I mean, HFCS isn't really any worse for you than sugar. But it doesn't taste nearly as good

2018-05-06 22:28:16 UTC

We use so much corn product over here we literally have corn dna in our hair

2018-05-06 22:28:43 UTC

sugar.. maaan ... started the british empire .. biggest empire of its time

2018-05-06 22:29:14 UTC

by the pirate henry morgan

2018-05-06 22:29:38 UTC

... or i think actually he was a privateer

2018-05-06 22:30:28 UTC

There is no difference really

2018-05-06 22:30:38 UTC

there is a big different

2018-05-06 22:31:24 UTC

Not really. Pirates were just privateers who didn't get paid what they wanted so they said "fuck this" and became free men.

2018-05-06 22:31:27 UTC

a privateer is sanctioned by the British government, and can ONLY pillage Spanish ships ... a pirate pillages everyone

2018-05-06 22:33:07 UTC

Pirates are basically privateers on strike

2018-05-06 22:40:07 UTC

Over here it's Sugar (red) Stevia (red/green), and two aspartame (silver, marketed at women, black, marketed at men)

2018-05-06 22:40:12 UTC

For Coca-Cola

2018-05-06 23:08:26 UTC

you guys see this shit going on at DePaul university recently?

2018-05-06 23:09:10 UTC

some girl dressed up as a raver girl, covered her face with purple paint and a name tag "blacky" (for blackout drunk)

2018-05-06 23:09:32 UTC

and students are protesting "Meet our demands, we are not safe"

2018-05-06 23:12:10 UTC

oh, DePauw univesity?

2018-05-06 23:12:13 UTC

oh it's from last month

2018-05-07 01:07:56 UTC

I heard Tim was considering doing a doc on gamergate. Is this true?

2018-05-07 01:32:31 UTC

He should.

2018-05-07 01:32:46 UTC

A lot of us only know part of the whole story.

2018-05-07 01:37:44 UTC

emily is researching gamergate

2018-05-07 01:39:00 UTC

Don't trust the wiki. It was written by nothing but sjws

2018-05-07 01:39:15 UTC

I hope she enjoys digging through archive sites.

2018-05-07 01:39:45 UTC

I do wonder how it's gonna go though.

2018-05-07 01:39:53 UTC

Apparently the modern interpretation of the movement was that it was started by lies.

2018-05-07 01:40:35 UTC

eg. Quinn never slept with anyone, his ex lied and was an abusive asshole, the review was unrelated to her relationship with game journalists, etc.

2018-05-07 01:40:50 UTC

And that's widely accepted now. I've heard it being repeated in several places at this point.

2018-05-07 04:04:17 UTC

HOLYSHIT

2018-05-07 04:04:22 UTC

listening to TWIS

2018-05-07 04:04:40 UTC

some guy in scotland got arrested and jailed for having a potato peeler in public

2018-05-07 04:04:44 UTC

this is beyond a joke now

2018-05-07 04:10:19 UTC

Habitual Soda Drinker - ADHD, Caffeine has a similar but more mild effect compared to Adderall, which I refuse to take, but that's a side point...

I can tell you all about sodas.

In the US, Coca-cola comes in 5 varieties.
"Classic Taste", red label, which is sweetened using HFCS.
"Coke Life", green label , my drink of choice, which utilizes Stevia to reduce the amount of sugar it takes to sweeten it. (And it DOES include Sugar as well, diabetics beware.) Stevia gives it a slightly bitter aftertaste, and IMHO, a more rounded out flavor.
"Diet Coke", Silver label, uses Aspertame, and another compound with a chemical name.
"Coke Zero", Black Label, also uses Aspertame.
And then you've got the "Mexican Coke". These are Coca Colas that jumped the border, come in glass bottles, are 100% sweetened with Sugar. I tend to take one into every weekend, my tea-totaller equivalent of a beer on a Friday night.

The main reason why sodas are typically sweetened with Corn Syrup as opposed to Sugar in the united states is due to government subsidies for the corn industry, something uniquely American. There are subsidies for Corn, Wheat, and Soy, which is why you will find at least one of these products in just about anything you buy in the United States.

Also, if it's ever coming up on Easter, and you spot a 2-liter bottle of Coca Cola with a yellow cap, That coca-cola is sweetened with table sugar, as corn is not considered kosher for Passover.

2018-05-07 04:11:01 UTC

You ever try jarritos?

2018-05-07 04:11:09 UTC

They taste funky.

2018-05-07 04:11:16 UTC

The fruit ones are fine and all

2018-05-07 04:11:23 UTC

but their cola is terrible.

2018-05-07 04:11:33 UTC

Fair. I only go for the fruit stuff. The orange ones are infinitely better than the american brands.

2018-05-07 04:12:41 UTC

If you ever find yourself at an Asian market, I suggest picking up a bottle of Royal Tru Orange.

2018-05-07 04:12:57 UTC

If they've got it.

2018-05-07 04:13:07 UTC

It's an orange soda sold in the Phillippines.

2018-05-07 04:15:17 UTC

Noted.

2018-05-07 04:25:44 UTC

Conservativism is the counterculture now. Who woulda thunk.

2018-05-07 04:26:33 UTC

Not so much that, as it is that people naturally turn more conservative with age.

2018-05-07 04:28:22 UTC

Keep in mind, the same old people who voted for the racist sexist homophobic xenophobic warmongering piece of shit Donald Trump

2018-05-07 04:28:26 UTC

were hippies not too long ago.

2018-05-07 04:29:06 UTC

True but. I'm hearing there's an upsurge of young conservatives in the US right now.

2018-05-07 04:29:13 UTC

of course, they want to take everyones money until they are the ones without money

2018-05-07 04:29:14 UTC

Oh, absolutely.

2018-05-07 04:29:15 UTC

Doubt it's a majority yet but it's definitely something to note.

2018-05-07 04:29:44 UTC

It's in part due to a split in the democratic party.

2018-05-07 04:29:59 UTC

Some of whom identify more with conservatives now

2018-05-07 04:30:07 UTC

some of whom identify with democratic socialism

2018-05-07 04:30:18 UTC

and some of whom identify with progressivism

2018-05-07 04:30:21 UTC

which is slightly different.

2018-05-07 04:30:51 UTC

By trying to collectivize their base, the democrats have fractured themselves.

2018-05-07 04:30:53 UTC

i think there is an upsurge in financially conservative young people. Since there is no place for them in the left, they now have to look elsewhere

2018-05-07 04:31:41 UTC

Naturally, an ideology that allows individuals to be different from one another becomes more sustainable than one that requires different people to operate as a single unit.

2018-05-07 04:32:00 UTC

You can only fight against nature so much.

2018-05-07 04:32:29 UTC

I wouldn't doubt it.

2018-05-07 04:32:35 UTC

I don't keep track of the names. lol

2018-05-07 04:32:42 UTC

It's not going to show up for a while

2018-05-07 04:32:44 UTC

but...

2018-05-07 04:33:06 UTC

They're showing signs of converting to conservatism faster than previous generations.

2018-05-07 04:33:58 UTC

Because, once again, the leftists are trying their hardest to control, and excessive control leads to rebellion.

2018-05-07 04:34:18 UTC

I tink it's the pendulum theory. The west has been very left wing for awhile and now it's going to be more right wing for awhile.

2018-05-07 04:34:20 UTC

Excessive religious control led to where we are with leftists today.

2018-05-07 04:34:51 UTC

The key, aussie, is asking why. It doesn't just happen.

2018-05-07 04:34:58 UTC

And the Frankfurt School.

2018-05-07 04:35:40 UTC

You mean that whole argument suggesting the reduction of religious influence has problems in that they've up to now basically replaced it with a lack of morals?

2018-05-07 04:36:09 UTC

I know some jews in the Frankurt School planned to subvert western societies to distory them.

2018-05-07 04:36:12 UTC

I wouldn't say what the left has is a lack of morals

2018-05-07 04:36:17 UTC

morality can be rather subjective.

2018-05-07 04:36:27 UTC

What they've got is definitely a code
