And I have a rule... no cell phones.
EVER
I have done all kinds of dating. Speed dating was disappointing.
I am not going to be ignored on the date, we take the time out of our day to spend time together.
Internet, IRL, all of it.
Blind dates.
The phone can wait.
And i really wish I had been blind.
ya i bet that doesnt go well these days dusty
I attended the wedding of a couple back in '05 that met on the internet. Powerpuff Girl fandom. They just had their first baby. ๐
hasnt on the last few dates i was on at least
They get pissy over that rule.
id more say beligerant
but hey
tomato, tommato
Cell Phones consume people's lives these days.
Mine certainly does
Cell phones save lives, though.
I've been considering a dumb phone
Dates are more enjoyable without cell phones involved.
i mean, it was computers for us nerds before cellphones for the masses
Imagine Ford hadn't had her iPhone 35 years ago.
the only reason computers didnt do it was they didnt fit in your pocket yet
You talk to each other, you go play pool or carnaval together.
I agree @Dusty Morgan
You actually get to know each other.
I rather do something fun and exciting... make memories on the first date.
thats what their facebook is for
lol
and that profile of them you got of the dark web
why remember things when facebook will remember it for you!!
One thing it did definitely help was punctuality. When you agreed to meet someone at a certain time, you couldn't just change your mind a few minutes beforehand.
You actually had to be there, remember the date, and show up on tiem.

I remember playing the original Wolfenstein on an Apple IIe in junior high school. Such a nerd.
I hate when people change their minds.
Being a nerd is a good thing.
Sorry, I really really hate Wolfenstein
I dated many nerds during high school.
^_^
It was too repetitive and long
They turned out to be better looking in the end.
ya i always hated the original wolfenstine too
just found it boring
grey everything
Popular girls usually are ugly by the time they reach 20.
All worn out and used up.
Nerds are fun, you can be yourself around them
And less fun to be around.
i agree
I am glad it eventually channeled into Doom, though.
Games were fewer and farther between back then. Couldn't be picky.
Yupe.
@Dusty Morgan agree
You had to be thankful for what you get.
Doom was the shit for the time.
i agree
Gameplay didn't age so well, but it's still fun.
During high school, I made it a thing. I give every girl a chance to date me. I will not be judgemental.
i agree
I will treat them all equally.
EA was actually a decent company back then
hard to remember
but they were
BTW< I got it to run on my MP3 player. There is a fimware replacement called Rock Box.
i agree
I made plenty of use of Copy II Plus, though.
I was a druggy teen who dropped out of high school, I had horrid parents :(
It can run Doom on those little Sansa Clip
Sorry to hear that Cavernous.
Shovelware wasn't viable in the late 90s early 2000s. You couldn't just spam out crap with recycled assets and expect a return.
Lots of shareware sure, but it wasn't successful.
Yeah... I did give every girl a chance. But I did have a preference. Red heads with green eyes.
@Coochie coo Most of my friends of that generation had terrible homes.
I chose them if I had a choice.
lol
And I don't think it's normal.
i agree
I actually hate that so many people try to normalize it or avoid the subject. I really want to understand what happened in that generatin.
I had a swimming pool, pool table, juke box, video game consoles, internet, and campers...
Something really bad happened. Maybe feminism made its first appearance and many broken homes.
That was before I lost everything because my dad was on drugs.
Or a lot of those new state policies, with helicopter parents.
i agree
I don't know, but it was really, really bad.
My house was THE hangout for all the kids back then.
We would rotate play times, because everyone had some shit going on with their familiy, so we had to pick the house that was "normal" on the given day.
Even popular kids hung out... but I didn't like them, but I let them come.
If they treated my friends badly, I kicked them out, so they listen to me.
I didn't stick with one group.
I'm in a good place now :) i moved out of California ๐ got my shit together away from life stuckers
Probably for the best.
CA I heard crazy stories, yes.
I wasn't popular, just had a lot of influence.
I miss the mountains, and the beaches.
People were work obsessed and didn't really care about their kids.
I don't miss the people.
i agree
And some of my friends from Canada had it kind of rough.
They just put together bicycles from trash.
Drugs are the worst.
