Just a last checkup, I dont anticipate any surprised but you understand why I wanna double check
What's your assessment of our readiness for the December event? We have the laptop prepped for getting the radios ready. We're making sure every network actually brings all their radio equipment. You're a smart guy and have CTCSS covered.
Am I missing anything? We should be completely good to go as far as things go and those few reminders. You're the guy to talk to here and so I wanted to get your temperature reading. Wanted to ask now so we have time to scramble a few things real quick with the time we have left in case I'm completely dropping the ball on something here
Last minute fucking with the reschedule 😞
Happy early birthday btw!
Could always do birthday shit after ig, I mean its over at 5 PM
Is it? Im a lot farther from the border I think so for me itd probably be closer to 4+
No idea, I was gonna carpool with Marcus due to car issues
Sounds good, just wanted to double check for obvious reasons. Thanks bro, hope you make sure to have a fantastic thanksgiving!
Mike ID and I have gotten the comms stuff for the December event all figured out, we should be completely good to go and all that's really left is us reminding all the network directors and everyone to actually bring all their equipment. We're both confident that we are all squared away and you shouldn't have a thing to worry about!
I'll reach back out to all the network directors and just double check that they don't forget to bring the equipment. I don't think that the list should have changed from the last time I put an update in the channel with who is bringing how much of what, but it never hurts to make sure. I'll have that for you soon! Last time the list was updated it was as follows
Sam VA: 4 Baofeng uv5rs
Thomas: 5 Baofeng UV-5rs
Ryan OH/KY: 7 Baofeng UV-5r
Lawrence FL: 2 Baofeng UV-5r
Adam NC: 6 Baofeng UV-5r
As far as new comms standards go, I think the manuals we have are a phenomenal beginning. We have the "How-To-UV-5R", we have the "How to talk on the radio and be smart about it", and we have the software needed to program all the radios when they are at the December event. With the manuals we have we should be able to show those two to anyone and have them be competent enough to not fuck up, and the more technical aspects Mike and I will just program in automatically with the laptop
Just a reminder, make sure to bring all of the radios your area has to the december event. I know you probably don't need the reminder, but putting it out for everyone :pfshield: :radio: If you know anyone else who has radios, tell them to as well just so we have more redundancies in place. I appreciate all the work you've been doing, thank you! Looking forward to hanging out

Sending PDF versions as well. I'll keep you updated with any equipment changes, I don't anticipate any but of course I've sent out messages just reconfirming.
I'll make sure to bring good tape and markers for exactly those reasons, no worries!
Always happy to help!
That's a rip! Sorry to hear it! How many radios do you have now to bring to the December event then approximately? Getting a last updated list
Heartbreaking, rip. I understand though. Thanks for letting me know and we'll figure something out. Keep an eye out for anyone else who might have a radio we could borrow, we'll do all the work with'em so no worries. Either way I hope you have a fantastic thanksgiving and look forward to either hearing back from you beforehand or seeing you again in December!
Jack and Grant had to be removed for guide violations and they won't be attending Dec 4th now, which means Florida will not be able to bring ANY radios unless they find new people. That brings our total down to 24 radios I believe, still should be more than enough. Everyone else reconfirmed they would still be able to bring the amount they promised before
@Robert IN Happy to have you here! If you ever have any questions don't hesitate to reach out! We're a team here and we look out for each other
Hey, loved the banner some MO guys did with putting it over that big billboard. If it isn't too much of a problem do you think you might know or be able to ask some of the other guys what the proportion of the fabric used was and such? I think there might be some more billboards off to the side of the road that look like they could use the same type of fun. Everyone can make a banner, but that's clearly not your average sized banner with average sized stencils I think
Thank you!

Original question about radios is not as important anymore since we have more than enough for the December event, but if you become able to take a count of them (that people would be willing to use for PF activities and national events) that would be fantastic as well.
No worries! Shit happens and mumble is really easy to let loose haha. I'll have to look into that website. I'll make sure to get something set up with myself, @Marcus NC , and take a quick rollcall for who should be on such an interesting banner drop and let you know! Making a guide for that would be an outstanding idea because that is close to uncharted territory
Ham radios are a little more difficult simply because my specialty is handheld comms. I might have an idea, let me get back to you soon with something but realistically it's all public info so it is as simple as "Best budget ham radios" and that should actually give you a pretty good idea for what you can expect. When usually works for mumble? No rush or pressure of course, just trying to get an idea of what works best for you so its not an inconvenience
Its on property that's surrounded with a barbed wire topped fence.

Understood, I will make sure to relay that on. I'm terribly sorry to hear that but if there's ever anything any of us can do, let us know. I'd ask you to reconsider because we would handle transportation so you would not need to pay gas at all, and its only one weekend for easily one of the most important dates of the year, but I do understand. Been there before, hell, might not be tooooo far behind you. Just let us know if theres anything we can do to change that no to a yes or otherwise make things better. Thank you for letting me know
Of course man, goes without saying
KYLE FREE
Yep! He did a great job and it was good talking to him again, had been a while
Sounds like a plan! Looking forward to it, honestly I think you gave me the important information already but obviously I am sure there is a lot more to learn given how new THAT type of banner drop is. Thank you
Also! I went through this article, it seems on point and isnt bullshitting around, so I would give it a look with your guys and ask yourselves which is best for what objectives you want to accomplish
Absolutely! I will link you up with @Marcus NC so you should reach out to him and he will set you up with local transport, we'll make sure you have a transport!
@ND - Carter MO will be available on Sunday night at 8 PM to discuss some tips and ideas for the FBI billboard
We should all be there imp
imo
Just to make sure nothing is lost, forgotten, etc. No better opportunity than from them directly. Of course we can (Maybe even should just given his experience, up to yall) have Sam there too for the meeting and/or the actual gameday play.
I think that might be a little iffy just with how things are up in western carolina. I'm definitely not saying no but given his relative inexperience and refusal to do anything with Jesse along with Jesses comments on James it makes me hesitant to immediately jump on that. Anything that we learn we can always take back to James. However I am leaving this completely up to @Jesse NC because its his area and he has more experience with/knows James better than either of us
Sounds good, like I said I am completely fine trusting Jesse's judgement on this but I don't anticipate him to be in favor of it
What?
Just a reminder that I can pick up the projector and anything else needed to send up to western carolina anytime the rest of this afternoon or any afternoon this week
No rush of course
Oh okay, thank you
No worries! Nothing we really could have done about that, I'm just glad that now BOTH sides of the carolinas will be able to create their own things. That was always the end goal ðŸ¤
@all
We're in meeting room three, no rush of course! I know you have some other stuff to finish up first
Just double checking, are you still good?
No worries! It happens, we'll figure something out later
We should plan on the billboard itself being 14 by 48 feet
That means we need to grab a fabric size that should do a good job covering that
Actually, I think after we've done some brainstorming and scouting, the biggest question is how did you do the stencils? The letters look bigger than most banners for obvious reasons, but maybe that's just eyes playing tricks. If you'd prefer to go over that in a call that's also completely good but I think that's really the last MAIN puzzle piece missing
Look at theirs though, it was one full solid thing
Im SURE we can! I mean hell, clearly its possible. Just a matter of going to the right store, making the right order, or something
Where do you usually get the fabric we use and what exactly is it? I can go ask around
What is the material called btw 😳
Sounds good! I will be on mumble at 8 PM EST tomorrow (wednesday)! I appreciate all the work youre going into to help us achieve this, wouldnt be possible without your help!
8 PM EST tomorrow btw @all is when Carter can reschedule
I will be there, you dont have to be but you can be if you want to try again
"We spent about 30 hours cutting 32'' coroplast stencils for each letter of our saying, then an insane amount of math for spacing."
Sounds like they did a TON of work to make it happen, but I know us NC boys can put in just as much so we make an amazing impression
Reminder about the meeting tonight at 8 PM EST btw @all
Just tracking, still good for 8 PM EST?
That is correct
7 PM CST
8 PM EST
Marcus said he could make it at least so that's good. I get it though, life happens
Not your fault given that this thing at all is a reschedule from Carter not hopping on the other day
Nah no worries bro, honestly I'm not gonna be able to be super active myself until after the weekend. Tonight is the last night I have time before thanksgiving through Sunday lol
I'll make sure Marcus and I listen up well because two heads is always better than one!
This time it should be meeting room #2
Lat 35°36'0.33" N

Liquid nails caulking and three layers of white tape on each seam. also back
Plan for 14 by 46-48 feet billboard
8 drop cloths most likely but can/will adjust as needed
a foot of overlap putting it together
M8 or M13 tape
use sheets of cardboard to walk on the banner without it getting dirty
PICS
SQUARES ARE GROMETS
TRIANGLES ARE
dump out half the water bottle, twist around middle so you can tie rope
spraypaint water bottles black to blend easier
telescoping ladder make everything black no reflective shit

Marcus will make his notes look pretty and then we should be on the same page
Another meeting Friday night at 9 PM EST
@all
Its located on the property of Appalachian Tool & Machine Inc
Thank you for the help so far! Looking forward to hopefully being able to hop on call for Friday and also looking forward to the other things we talked about at the beginning of the call!
Outstanding! Thanks man!
Lot of work and effort went into that banner, but man was it worth it. You guys did a phenomenal job, got an important message out that couldnt be ignored, AND got PF some more recruits. That's something alright
Thank you Brian! Hope you all have an outstanding Thanksgiving as well :)
It's a beautiful day to spend with family or friends, and an important day to remember everything your ancestors gave to be here. Pioneers, heros, trailblazers. We owe everything to them and so make sure to be the best you that you can be!
