Mike ID and I have gotten the comms stuff for the December event all figured out, we should be completely good to go and all that's really left is us reminding all the network directors and everyone to actually bring all their equipment. We're both confident that we are all squared away and you shouldn't have a thing to worry about!

We should get a list of equipment assigned to whomever is bringing it.

How is the transition over to the new comms standard going?

I'll reach back out to all the network directors and just double check that they don't forget to bring the equipment. I don't think that the list should have changed from the last time I put an update in the channel with who is bringing how much of what, but it never hurts to make sure. I'll have that for you soon! Last time the list was updated it was as follows

Sam VA: 4 Baofeng uv5rs

Thomas: 5 Baofeng UV-5rs

Ryan OH/KY: 7 Baofeng UV-5r

Lawrence FL: 2 Baofeng UV-5r

Adam NC: 6 Baofeng UV-5r


As far as new comms standards go, I think the manuals we have are a phenomenal beginning. We have the "How-To-UV-5R", we have the "How to talk on the radio and be smart about it", and we have the software needed to program all the radios when they are at the December event. With the manuals we have we should be able to show those two to anyone and have them be competent enough to not fuck up, and the more technical aspects Mike and I will just program in automatically with the laptop

Very nice. Send me those two documents and give me any changes to the equipment lineup.

Bring duct tape and markers to tag the radios by travel party. Bring masking tape to cover the screens.

Jack and Grant had to be removed for guide violations and they won't be attending Dec 4th now, which means Florida will not be able to bring ANY radios unless they find new people. That brings our total down to 24 radios I believe, still should be more than enough. Everyone else reconfirmed they would still be able to bring the amount they promised before

Great news, I have alarms to remind everyone who is supposed to bring radios set so I can remind everyone, Mike and I have all the prepwork done that we should need done so we can just plug radios in and make them work. You literally just need to know how to press the talk button and you should be fine, worst case scenario Mike or I should be nearby to quickly assist. Comms should be all settled and good to go for this trip. Just to give you a nice little bow on top of everything. All that'll be left is when I'm told to be at the undisclosed campsite sometime before(Or more likely, on) Friday and I can make sure that the Carolina boys all make good time to get to where we're supposed to be
